“SingularityU Thailand Summit 2018” - The First in Southeast Asia, Bringing Together Global Innovators and Thought Leaders
A significant step towards transforming the innovation landscape of Southeast Asia with Singularity University, which will unite global thought leaders for the first time in Bangkok, aiming to enhance opportunities for leveraging disruptive technologies across various industries, our global economy, and daily life.
Bangkok, Thailand (March 20, 2018) - Exponential Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Singularity University (SU), a hub for thinkers and innovation leaders from Silicon Valley focused on addressing global challenges through the utilization of exponential technologies, has announced the first seminar in Southeast Asia under the name SingularityU Thailand Summit 2018. The seminar will take place from June 19 to 20, 2018, at the InterContinental Bangkok.
SingularityU Thailand Summit 2018 is one of the initiatives launched by Exponential Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., an organization aimed at pushing Thailand's potential towards growth and transcending the current economic and social development models.
Dr. John Leslie Millar from Exponential Social Enterprise Co., Ltd. stated, “Since its inception in 2008, Singularity University has continuously served as a foundation for a global innovation community, emphasizing the creation of positive change in the world through exponential thinking and addressing global challenges. The SingularityU Summit is recognized as a key driver for real change and solutions. For nearly a decade, various events under SingularityU have gathered leading experts and thought leaders, whether in conferences or programs related to technology education, to stimulate the exchange of ideas and actions that will have a genuine impact on businesses, industries, society, and the global community.”
The SingularityU Thailand Summit 2018 will span two full days, focusing on advancements in various technologies that can occur broadly through fundamental shifts in thinking. The overall impact of these changes can transform everything in human daily life.
Participants will hear discussions on topics such as the future of Artificial Intelligence, the future of digital healthcare, the future of the energy industry, and significant global transformations.
“It is time for us in Southeast Asia to recognize our potential and elevate ourselves beyond being a regional innovation hub, aiming to become a center for thinkers and innovators. For Thailand, what is urgent now is to move towards becoming the business hub of the region, leveraging 'Thailand 4.0' by shifting our strategic thinking towards practical approaches to tackle future challenges,” Dr. Millar added.
“However, the first step is to help leaders in both the public and private sectors understand what disruptive technologies are and why they are crucial for driving significant global changes over the past decade. This understanding will enable them to foresee what lies ahead in the future through exponential thinking. If we can discover new things in territories beyond our familiarity, it will be a key factor for real change for Thailand and the region. Additionally, our goal is for this seminar to be the starting point for future collaborations across various sectors, both globally and regionally.”
During the press conference announcing the seminar, held at the FYI Center on March 20, 2018, top executives from Thailand's business sector attended, including representatives from banking and real estate, along with an introduction from SingularityU Bangkok Chapter.
Mr. Natthapol Wimolchalor representative from SingularityU Bangkok Chapter stated, “The purpose of the SingularityU seminar is to inspire change by posing new questions about the impact of innovation on productivity, personnel, various industries, and public policy. Our aim for this seminar is to visualize the 'before and after' of both Thailand and other countries. We sincerely hope that this seminar will initiate new pilot projects that will promote innovation across various industries in Thailand in the future.”
The SingularityU Thailand Summit is supported by various organizations both in Thailand and abroad, including Ananda Development, Siam Commercial Bank, Deloitte, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the National Innovation Agency (NIA), Startup Thailand, and the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) in Thailand.
