Techsauce is set to host the 'Techsauce Global Summit 2018' for the third consecutive year on June 22-23, aiming to connect the regional Tech Ecosystem by inviting global leaders from various industries to share insights on new technologies and showcase Thailand's Tech Ecosystem. The summit will support Thai businesses in advancing AgTech, FoodTech, HealthTech, LivingTech, and EnergyTech, enhancing key industries, improving quality of life, and addressing social impact. It is expected that various foreign startups will continue to enter Thailand with new technologies until 2020.

Ms. Oranuch Lertsuwaankit, CEO and co-founder of Techsauce Media Co., Ltd., the organizer of the Techsauce Global Summit, revealed that this year, the summit will take place at Centara Grand at CentralWorld, with the primary goal of promoting and enhancing the Tech Ecosystem in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The event will facilitate knowledge sharing, create business networks, and connect entrepreneurs, investors, and all sectors to drive change.

This year's summit will feature over 200 speakers, including CEOs, investors, and technology experts from around the world. Notable speakers include David Brown, co-founder of Techstars, Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum, and Mike Peng, Managing Director of IDEO Tokyo, who was highly popular at last year's event.

The event has also received support from leading companies across various industries that prioritize technology development and investment in startups, including Siri Ventures, True Digital Park, PTT Public Company Limited, Advanced Info Service, LINE Company (Thailand), dtac Accelerate, Digital Ventures under Siam Commercial Bank, Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), among others.

Ms. Oranuch further stated that for 2018, she hopes to see all sectors in Thailand prioritize technology that can enhance the foundational industries of the country, such as AgTech and FoodTech, as Thailand has a competitive advantage in agriculture and food production. Focusing on AgTech and FoodTech will help Thailand leverage its existing strengths, create added value, generate new income, and support the agricultural sector and food industry workforce.

Additionally, there are other technology sectors that should be emphasized, including HealthTech, LivingTech, and EnergyTech, as these technologies will significantly improve the quality of life for people in the country and positively impact society.

“Many countries have prioritized AgTech, FoodTech, and even HealthTech for some time and are continuously developing these areas, even hosting fairs specifically related to these technologies to support society and enhance the quality of life. If all sectors focus on these technologies, it will help reduce inequality and elevate the country to a better path,” Ms. Oranuch stated.

This year's Techsauce Global Summit 2018 will feature a total of 10 stages. The first group will focus on technologies for businesses and industries that create positive social impacts and directly enhance quality of life, including: 1. AgTech & FoodTech 2. HealthTech 3. LivingTech 4. FinTech, to provide knowledge to businesses, startups, and interested individuals about technologies that can create positive social impacts.

Meanwhile, the second group will cover overarching themes and new technologies that will impact all industries, including: 1. Startup 2. Venture Capital (VC) 3. Deep Tech Showcase & Head to the Future 4. Blockchain & Cryptocurrency 5. AR & VR 6. Data Science & AI, allowing all sectors to learn about trends that may impact their businesses, society, and their lives, with over 200 discussion topics across all 10 stages.

Ms. Oranuch added that this year's event will also highlight several important aspects, such as creating a Business Matching space for entrepreneurs and hosting the Startup Pitching finals with participants from over 20 countries across Asia-Oceania. With the rapid changes in technology affecting all businesses, and professionals like doctors and chefs increasingly starting their own startups related to their fields, along with lower costs for digital initiatives, it is anticipated that around 10,000 participants will attend this year, representing an increase of over 40% from last year.

As for Thailand's Tech Ecosystem, it is currently in a transitional and growth phase, with investors beginning to realize what they want from technology or startups. Following the emergence of several new Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) firms last year, it is expected that investors will increasingly choose to invest in technologies or innovations that suit their needs. Meanwhile, it is believed that by 2020, more small foreign startups will enter the Thai market and neighboring Southeast Asian countries, bringing new technologies such as green technology, which will intensify competition among startups with new technologies.

The Techsauce Global Summit 2018 is ideal for organizations seeking new innovations and brands preparing for Digital Transformation, as well as entrepreneurs looking for technologies to implement in their organizations and anyone interested in technology and new knowledge.
