  • Presenting a new dimension in residential design between AP and FABRICA Design Studio from Italy under the concept ‘The Third Space’ through design overlap and shared spaces

Bangkok (February 20, 2018) – AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited, a leader in urban real estate development specializing in innovative design for versatile living spaces, has joined forces with the Creative Design Center (TCDC) to bring in Sam Baron, a globally renowned designer from FABRICA Design Studio, and Kaave Pour from SPACE10 to present creative ideas at the national discussion panel (International Symposium) during the Bangkok Design Week 2018 under the theme PULSE: Keeping Up with the World, to present the concept of ‘Design Trends for Future Living Spaces (Co-Living Generation)’ to step into a new context of living as living spaces become limited

Mr. Sanpasit Fungfuangchewong Corporate Marketing Director and AP Design Lab of AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited stated, In the face of rapid changes driven by overwhelming technology, it is not easy to predict what future housing will look like, as customer demands change daily. Some things may currently meet customer comfort and preferences, but it is uncertain whether they will continue to meet customer needs in the future. Another significant challenge in current housing development is the limitation of space. As a Thai real estate developer, AP is committed to continuously pushing the boundaries of our capabilities. This year, AP has set a more challenging agenda and invited experts from various fields to participate in order to develop housing in every project that exceeds the needs of residents and covers all essential functionalities.”

“As the direction of housing develops rapidly to align with the future lifestyle of the new generation, AP (Thailand) embraces changes in all aspects to provide quality projects along with a good quality of life for AP residents, especially in the development of technology that transforms the living patterns of residents completely different from the past. For example, at the discussion panel ‘International Symposium’ during Bangkok Design Week 2018, the exhibition gathered designers and creators from both Thailand and abroad to share innovative design visions, including Kaave Pour (Co-Existence), Creative Director of SPACE10, a research center for future living by IKEA, which aims to design a better sustainable lifestyle by exploring new possibilities in global trends such as food security, urban expansion, health and wellness, or designing limited-use spaces to maximize functionality in the ‘AP SPACE SCHOLARSHIP’ project, a collaboration between Sam Baron and AP Thailand, aimed at presenting future living space designs through innovative future spaces from the perspectives of FABRICA Design Studio and AP ThailandMr. Sanpasit added.

Mr. Sam Baron Design Director of FABRICA Design Studio said, “I would like to commend AP (Thailand) for recognizing the importance of small details and developing them into great projects like SPACE SCHOLARSHIP. In my view, this project will elevate the quality of life for youth in Thai society through the expertise of both FABRICA and AP in residential space design and appealing designs for people from different backgrounds, crafted into living spaces that can be shared harmoniously, or what AP often refers to as ‘Co-working Space’. I hope to collaborate with AP on such challenging projects in the future.”

Mr. Kaave Pour Design Director of SPACE10 stated at the International Symposium, “SPACE10 conducts research and experiments on how humans will live in the next 2-3 decades. We delve into real possibilities in three main concepts: Circular Societies, Co-Existence, and Digital Empowerment. Humans are the driving force behind innovation. As 1.2 billion people need to live closer together and share more, everyone is ready to share resources with others. This is an example of how we envision the future, where those who begin to imagine the future will be the ones who start to create it. How we will live together in 2030 is a question we must collectively seek answers to.”

AP is ready to create new works that meet the demands of life in the future world, both in design and functionality. We conduct consumer research from various angles while considering rapidly advancing technology to innovate designs that respond to the entire future world, whether it be furniture, household appliances, or automated systems that connect the entire home. This aligns with AP's principle of being a leader in innovation for better living quality and life for urban dwellers.
