“GSB” creates a significant phenomenon by organizing the event “Smart SMEs Smart START UP” to drive the economy with a new breed of entrepreneurs, pushing Thailand towards becoming an  Innovation Hub and advancing the country's development policy towards Thailand 4.0 from December 1 to 3 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

          Today (December 1, 2017), Mr. Wisut Srisuphan, the Deputy Minister of Finance, presided over the opening ceremony of the  “Smart SMEs Smart START UP” event, which is being held from December 1 to 3, 2017, at the Plenary Hall of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event is organized by GSB with the aim of elevating entrepreneurs in the SMEs and Startup sectors from traditional organizations to creative and innovative entities, or Smart Enterprises, and pushing them to become high-value businesses. GSB is ready to be a source of funding to accelerate the competitiveness of these businesses.

          Mr. Chatchai Payuhanaveechai, Director of GSB, stated that the government has appointed the National Start-Up Committee to promote and support start-ups, and GSB has been continuously involved in driving and supporting this sector over the past 2 to 3 years. Currently, GSB is prepared to push this initiative to become Thailand's Innovation Hub, gathering entrepreneurs from various businesses, both products and services, that are innovative and creative. Additionally, GSB is providing funding support through loans, with a current budget of 10 billion baht, along with 2 billion baht for venture capital investments.

“We are ready to support SMEs and Startups to grow and compete effectively, in line with government policies under the Thailand 4.0 model. This event also includes special interest rate conditions for exhibitors and attendees,” said Mr. Chatchai.

          The event will showcase over 6,000 square meters, gathering nearly 200 SMEs and Startup entrepreneurs. It will be divided into zones, including: 1. Smart Life - businesses related to the lifestyle of the new generation, 2. Food and Cuisine - food innovation, 3. Smart Business - franchise businesses, 4. Star Startup - showcasing products from celebrities, 5. Smart Innovation - cutting-edge innovative products along with booths from various universities showcasing their work, 6. GSB Smart Startup - featuring participants from the GSB Ultimate SMEs Startup program, showcasing products along with a showcase of the top 1-3 entries from the “GSB from Hundreds to Millions” business plan competition over the past 5 years, 7. Digital Playground - showcasing technological and digital innovations, 8. Truck Business - showcasing truck entrepreneurs for various business types, such as food trucks and clothing sales trucks, with 7 actual trucks on display, and 9. Strategic Partners - GSB's partners consisting of organizations related to SMEs and Startups providing knowledge and business advice. Attendees can download the Mymo and GSB Pay applications to purchase products from the mentioned zones, along with exclusive promotions only available at this event.

          In addition to showcasing innovative products and creative ideas, GSB has also set up a central stage for business-minded individuals, both those starting out and those already in business, to meet and network. There will be smaller seminars on stage featuring knowledgeable and renowned experts sharing experiences and advice, along with workshops for those interested in honing their business problem-solving skills. The event will also feature entertainment activities from various artists and celebrities, culminating in a mini-concert by artist Aeh Jirakorn.
