Transport Company Reduces Fares by 20% for Public to Attend the Royal Cremation Ceremony of King Rama IX
Mr. Jirasak Yeowwatchakul, the Managing Director of the Transport Company Limited (BorKorSor), announced that the government has scheduled the royal cremation ceremony for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on October 26, 2017.
In honor of His Majesty's unparalleled benevolence, BorKorSor will reduce fares by 20% for citizens wishing to travel to the event from October 25 to 29, 2017. This fare reduction applies to all BorKorSor bus routes exceeding 300 kilometers, starting from 00:01 on October 25, 2017, until 24:00 on October 29, 2017.
For suburban routes, including Bangkok to Saraburi and Bangkok to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, the fare reduction will only be available on October 26, 2017, from 00:01 to 24:00. Citizens can book and purchase tickets in advance at BorKorSor ticket counters at bus stations nationwide.
BorKorSor has prepared plans to accommodate the public attending the ceremony from October 25 to 29, 2017, with approximately 9,233 trips per day, capable of serving around 186,788 passengers.
This includes routes in the northern and northeastern regions, providing about 5,086 trips per day for approximately 114,527 passengers; eastern routes with around 1,199 trips per day for about 20,669 passengers; and southern routes with approximately 2,948 trips per day for about 51,592 passengers.
Additionally, BorKorSor has collaborated with bus operators to provide free shuttle bus services from Mo Chit 2 to Sanam Luang, with the first bus departing at 04:30 and continuing every hour throughout the day. For more details, please contact the Call Center at 1490.
