Leading real estate developers from across the country participated in the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards for the 12th time in 2017.

Over 100 awards were presented to outstanding projects and developers in Bangkok, Samui, Hua Hin, Khao Yai, the Eastern Seaboard, and Phuket.

  • Ananda Development, Sansiri, Charn Issara Development, The Riviera Group, MontAzure, and Major Development took home major awards.
  • The retail industry queen of Thailand, Supaluck Umpujh, received the Real Estate Personality of the Year award.

The 12th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards 2017, supported by the leading real estate website DDproperty.com, announced the winners of the prestigious real estate awards, showcasing the country's potential in world-class design and construction.

Ananda Development won the Best Developer award, marking its first win at the Thailand Property Awards, the largest and longest-running real estate awards in the country, now in its 12th year.

With a commitment to developing real estate projects under the Urban Technology Ecosystem, aimed at addressing urban living challenges for consumers, Ananda Development also won two additional awards for the development and design of luxury condominiums from the Ashton Residence 41 project in Bangkok.

“With a passion for business and a commitment to improving living standards in Thailand, Ananda Development has operated using the UrbanTech concept as a principle for residential and commercial project development, paving the way for Thai real estate companies towards smarter and more sustainable development,” said Suphin Mechuchep, Managing Director of Jones Lang LaSalle (Thailand) and Chairman of the judging panel.

Meanwhile, Sansiri, which implemented the concept of collaborative living innovation in its condominium projects, won a total of four awards, the most among the finalists, including the Best High-Rise High-End Condo Development (Bangkok). Sansiri also received a special award for Corporate Social Responsibility alongside The Riviera Group, which has won this award twice before, and Sena Development, recognizing their commitment to environmental sustainability and youth development.

Two companies that have previously won the Best Developer award received the Best of Thailand awards this year: Charn Issara Development for the Sita Wan housing project in Khao Yai, which won Best Housing Development (Thailand), and Major Development for the ultra-luxury Mark Sukhumvit condominium, which won Best Condo Development (Thailand). Another major winner of the night was MontAzure from Phuket, which won the Best Mixed Use Development award, a new category this year, along with Origin Sathorn Co., Ltd. for the Knightsbridge The Ocean Sriracha project, winning Best Luxury Condo Development, and Proud Residences Co., Ltd. for the Park 24 project, winning Best Condo Landscape Architectural Design.

A total of 39 winners and over 60 commendations were awarded to more than 100 winners, demonstrating the continuous growth of the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards, the largest real estate awards in the country. Over 40 real estate developers have gained recognition for their projects in Bangkok, Phuket, Samui, Hua Hin, Khao Yai, and the Eastern Seaboard.

“It’s incredible that the Thailand Property Awards, now in its 12th year, continues to break records, and this time we have a list of finalists that are all strong companies,” said Terry Blackburn, founder and Managing Director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, during the opening ceremony.

“To arrive at the list of over 100 award winners, the judging panel worked hard, selecting winners from over 250 nominees, and the judges had to participate in site visits to over 60 projects,” he added. “It was a challenging task for the judges, and we are pleased with the success of Thailand's real estate industry.”

The gala dinner and award ceremony took place at the Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Méridien Hotel, with over 500 guests and VIPs in attendance, including the retail queen of Thailand, Supaluck Umpujh, Chairwoman of The Mall Group, behind famous shopping centers such as Siam Paragon, The Emporium, and The EmQuartier.

Supaluck received the 2017 Real Estate Personality of the Year award, selected by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report, recognizing her as a pioneer and supporter of retail and lifestyle real estate.
