Flag Display on the Birthday of His Majesty the King and National Flag Day
The Secretary-General of the Prime Minister's Office announced that the Prime Minister has signed an order to amend the regulations regarding the display of the Thai national flag for three days: on the birthday of His Majesty the King on July 28-29 and on National Flag Day on September 28.
At the Government House, Mr. Jirachai Moontongroy, Secretary-General of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that General Prayuth Chan-o-cha, the Prime Minister and head of the National Council for Peace and Order, has signed an order amending the regulations on the use, hoisting, or display of the national flag and foreign flags in the Kingdom (version 4) B.E. 2560. This amendment is deemed necessary to update the regulations regarding the use, hoisting, or display of the national flag and foreign flags in the Kingdom (version 4) B.E. 2559, specifically concerning the hoisting and display of the national flag at buildings, vehicles, and public places during significant occasions and ceremonies, which include:
- New Year's Day on January 1
- Makha Bucha Day
- The birthday of King Rama I and Chakri Memorial Day on April 6
- Songkran Festival on April 13
- Royal Plowing Ceremony
- Visakha Bucha Day
- Asalha Bucha Day
- Vassa (Buddhist Lent) Day
- The birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on July 28-29
- The birthday of Her Majesty the Queen on August 12
- National Flag Day on September 28
- United Nations Day on October 24
- The anniversary of the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, National Day, and Father's Day on December 5 and 6
- Constitution Day on December 10
For the hoisting and display of flags on other significant occasions or ceremonies, it will be in accordance with announcements made by the government from time to time. Additionally, the hoisting and display of flags during other traditional ceremonies should be done with respect.
This amendment adds three more days for the hoisting and display of the national flag: on the birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on July 28-29 and on National Flag Day on September 28.
