Central Pattana Joins Thai-Malaysian Business Forum During PM's Visit to Malaysia, Reinforcing the Potential of 'Central i-City' to Support ASEAN Investment and Economic Cooperation
Central Pattana Public Company Limited, Thailand's leading sustainable real estate developer and the developer of Central i-City, the only Thai shopping center in Malaysia, participated in a discussion forum between the Thai government and private sector during the visit of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to Malaysia. This event highlighted the role of the Thai private sector in investing in Malaysia and reinforced the strong cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia in trade, investment, and tourism, as well as future opportunities for collaboration between the governments and private sectors of both countries. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, also exchanged views on Thai-Malaysian trade and investment with representatives from leading Thai companies operating in Malaysia on July 9, 2023, at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Ms. Naparat Sriwanwittaya, Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director of the Finance, Accounting, and Hotel and Office Business Group at Central Pattana Public Company Limited, stated, "Malaysia is one of the strategic markets with great potential in the region and has a close economic relationship with Thailand in trade, investment, and tourism. Central Pattana believes that strong cooperation between the governments and private sectors of both countries will be a key mechanism in building confidence and opening new opportunities for businesses. We hope the government will support Thai private companies' investments in real estate projects in Malaysia to foster growth and strength on the global stage."

Mr. Wuttikiet Techamongkolaphiwat, Chief Executive Officer of Central Pattana Public Company Limited, remarked, "Central Pattana is one of the Thai companies with experience in investing and operating in Malaysia through Central i-City, the only Thai shopping center in Malaysia, which has shown strong growth, reflecting the market's potential and Central Pattana's confidence in Malaysia. The company is ready to continue expanding its business and investments according to its long-term plan. Additionally, Central Pattana has proposed that the government organize a Business Matching program to connect Thai and Malaysian entrepreneurs, with Central shopping centers serving as a retail platform for business expansion between the two countries under a tangible Cross-border model, while also supporting tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between them."

Moreover, Central i-City fosters cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia by supporting activities related to the economy, tourism, and culture. Recently, it hosted the Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 (The Wholesome Taste of Thai), organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Central Group, and public and private sector partners to promote tourism, Thai cuisine, and Thailand's Soft Power in the Malaysian market.
Central i-City, the first shopping center of Central Pattana abroad, is located in Shah Alam, Selangor, with a project value of 8.5 billion baht, featuring over 360 stores and partners, making it one of the leading lifestyle, retail, and entertainment destinations in Malaysia, as well as an important landmark in the country.
