WP Energy Concludes The Best Thai Street Food 2026, Promoting the “Worldgas ZERO WASTE You Throw, We Turn” Project as a Model for Sustainable Resource Circulation
- “Worldgas” ignites the green event movement by transforming decorative burlap bags into over 300 practical items, successfully reducing waste from food scraps - passing on plastic for maximum efficiency
WP Energy Public Company Limited, a comprehensive energy group and distributor of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) under the “Worldgas” brand, announced a significant achievement through the “Worldgas ZERO WASTE You Throw, We Turn” project, which aims to prevent waste from being wasted and to maximize its benefits for a sustainable world at the The Best Thai Street Food 2026 event held from May 15-17, 2026, at the Park Paragon, demonstrating to society that the uniqueness and flavors of Thai street food can grow alongside the creation of a better environment. This was witnessed by over 100,000 attendees, both Thai and international.
Ms. Chomkamol Phumpunphuang, CEO of WP Energy Public Company Limited stated, “The ‘Worldgas ZERO WASTE You Throw, We Turn’ project was initiated because WP Energy wanted to be part of the collaboration to address the increasing waste problem today, building on what we have always prioritized according to our mission “We Promise”, which aims to create smiles for communities and society. We have long supported food festivals to generate income and develop the economy for those in the restaurant sector, truly and sustainably distributing income to small entrepreneurs.”
WP Energy has expanded the concept of waste segregation, which is the starting point for a complete waste management cycle. At the The Best Thai Street Food 2026 event, careful planning and management of the overall structure were implemented from start to finish, emphasizing the practical application of the 3R concept systematically, which includes:
- Reduce (Reducing waste at the source): Measures were proactively established with partners by choosing environmentally friendly food packaging from FEST by SCGP that is clean, safe, and easily biodegradable instead of using foam or plastic. This aligns with the behavior of modern consumers who prefer to take food home, significantly reducing waste generated at the event.
- Reuse (Reusing decorative items at the event): All structures and decorations produced for the event were designed to be reused immediately for a second time. After the event, the team collected and maintained them well to prepare for future activities until they can no longer be used, helping to reduce budget waste and sustainably minimize waste.
- Recycle (Transforming waste materials into new products): Focused on effectively segregating clean dry waste, such as plastics, glass, paper, and metals, to enhance the efficiency of the recycling process, allowing recycling plants to utilize them easily and completely.

“This success is driven by WP Energy's unwavering commitment to our mission We Promise, which focuses on social and environmental responsibility sustainably, leading to the systematic and proper management of waste at events through the model Worldgas ReTurn at this grand food festival to circulate resources according to the principles of the Circular Economy for maximum benefit,” Ms. Chomkamol added.
Mr. Nopwong Omathikul, Deputy CEO of WP Energy Public Company Limited, further stated, “Throughout the three-day event, the project ‘Worldgas ZERO WASTE You Throw, We Turn’ has created tangible results and a new standard for Thai food festivals through the revitalization of decorations into eco-friendly items. The team transformed decorative burlap bags used at the event into over 300 items distributed to attendees and the general public for practical use in daily life.”
Moreover, this event set a remarkable record in reducing leftover waste. Systematic data collection revealed that only 393 kilograms of food scraps, 48 kilograms of recyclable waste, 55 kilograms of cans, and 11.5 kilograms of plastic bottles were generated, which is minimal compared to the hundreds of thousands of attendees, reflecting the effectiveness of waste segregation planning and excellent cooperation from vendors and consumers within the event area.
For stretch plastics, which are often problematic for decomposition, a total of 4.5 kilograms was collected and coordinated for delivery to the “Won Project” for proper recycling according to international standards for effective reuse. Attention to these small details demonstrates a commitment not only to aesthetics but also to environmental responsibility in every dimension.
“The results achieved are a testament to WP Energy's determination to drive a sustainable Food Ecosystem. We are ready to share this positive inspiration to ignite society and other industries to collaboratively create a balanced growing world,” Mr. Nopwong concluded.
