Mr. Chanawat Ueawattanaskul, CEO of Central Pattana Public Company Limited, stated, “Today, the world is facing significant challenges including the Climate Crisis, energy crises, and rapidly changing consumer behaviors. These factors are transforming how projects are developed and extending towards the development of our cities because 'cities' must be spaces that create a balance between quality of life and the environment. As a leader in Thai real estate, Central Pattana is moving forward under the vision of 'A Future-Led Ecosystem' to develop future cities that grow alongside communities, society, and the environment, with the Net Zero 2050 goal being a crucial mission for the organization. This commitment has been continuously recognized globally, including being ranked in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices and receiving sustainability awards at the Asian level, as well as developing prototype projects such as Eco-Friendly Mall & Sustainable Mall. Furthermore, we are continuing to advance the 'Better Futures Project' Year 5 in collaboration with both national and global partners to develop Thai youth as a driving force for the country's sustainable future.”
Ms. Naparat Sriwanwithee, CFO and CEO of the Finance, Accounting, and Hotel and Office Business Group of Central Pattana Public Company Limited, stated, “Today, sustainability is not just a business goal, but the heart of growth in the new world. Central Pattana has applied ESG principles and Financial Tools to drive measurable results by connecting business, finance, partners, and communities, from investments in clean energy, developing green buildings, to creating collaborations with Green Partnership partners to jointly set carbon reduction goals. At the same time, the Better Futures Project Year 5 is another important platform that opens opportunities for Thai youth from all regions to think, experiment, and develop sustainable ideas while learning Future Skills that lead to sustainable living in the future through collaborations with global partners, government, educational sectors, and leading brands.”
Ms. Nieve Collier-Smith, representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Thailand, emphasized, “The new generation is shaping consumption, production, and business operations. Their decisions are key to driving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production, and Goal 13 on climate change adaptation, alongside supporting decent work, stronger institutions, and sustainable communities. This project, supported by the European Union and implemented in collaboration with Central Pattana, government, and private sectors, has united efforts to help the youth transform intentions into actions while encouraging businesses to recognize that integrating human rights and sustainability into business models is not only the right thing to do but also a driver of resilience and competitiveness.”
Mr. Andreas Rottger, Head of Foreign Policy at the European Union in Thailand, stated, “A better future depends on our choices every day, and youth are a powerful driving force for change. In Thailand, the EU is pleased to collaborate with UNDP and the private sector to support youth in developing solutions that impact consumer behavior and create more responsible business practices. The Youth Changemakers project aims to amplify the voices of youth to drive responsible and transparent business operations. The EU is pleased to invite everyone and Thai youth to work together to translate global commitments into tangible local outcomes.”
Ms. Uthaiwan Anuchitnukun, Managing Director of Excellence Management and Sustainable Development at Central Pattana Public Company Limited, stated, “The Better Futures Project over the past 5 years has been a 'Platform for Change' that connects the power from various sectors to drive sustainability into real everyday life. We believe that the new generation has the power and ideas to create change but still lacks the space to experiment and take action. This year, we are opening spaces for youth across the country, covering 5 regions, to think and develop ideas based on SDG challenges following the United Nations' guidelines. The project will guide youth to learn from finding insights, developing Youth-Led Solutions with experts and partners, to extending into the business sector to create real impact in society.”

The Better Futures Project Year 5 is preparing a Roadshow to 5 regions across Thailand to open spaces for youth to think, take action, and drive the SDGs from the real contexts of each community, culminating in a Final Showcase at Central World in October.
