EnCo Welcomes Earth Day in April with the 4th Annual 'Bring a Tree Home' Event
Energy Complex Co., Ltd. (EnCo) , a leader in real estate management that recognizes the importance of the environment and focuses on sustainable growth, is celebrating April, which includes the significant global event "Earth Day." This day is designated to raise awareness and promote environmental conservation, combat pollution, address global warming, and prevent the destruction of natural resources. Therefore, EnCo has organized the “Bring a Tree Home Year 4” event to encourage employees of PTT Group, clients within the Energy Complex, and the general public to pay attention to the environment by distributing seedlings and vegetable plants from the Wang Chan Learning Center in Rayong province. This initiative aims to help participants increase green spaces in their daily lives, aligning with the concept of investing for the future of the world that everyone can act on immediately.

Mr. Sirisak Janthrema, Managing Director of Energy Complex Co., Ltd. stated that EnCo places great importance on promoting environmental awareness within the community and all sectors, aiming to instill values of caring for natural resources alongside organizational growth through activities that foster participation and yield positive outcomes for the planet. To emphasize the significance of Earth Day this year, EnCo has proceeded with the “Bring a Tree Home Year 4” event, which has received support in the form of 200 quality seedlings and vegetable plants from the Wang Chan Learning Center in Rayong, a model area for forest restoration that is rich and comprehensive, showcasing over 400 species of native and diverse plants. The seedlings from this center are robust and well-suited for adaptation and growth in various environments, allowing urban residents to help care for and increase green spaces in their homes or communities.

EnCo recognizes that trees are not just components of nature but also enhance well-being and quality of life. Increasing green spaces at work or home can help reduce stress accumulated from urban living, where many people spend their lives in buildings or enclosed spaces, while also significantly improving learning and work efficiency. Additionally, a single tree can absorb an average of 9 to 15 kilograms of carbon dioxide per year, or about 1 ton over its lifetime, and helps trap dust particles that are becoming increasingly severe today. This also supports the organization's goal of achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 sustainably.

“This activity serves as an investment for the future of the world that everyone can start immediately by changing daily behaviors to create green spaces in their own homes, fostering a ‘Green Momentum’ that begins from small points within the home, expands to the surrounding areas, and inspires others, ultimately forming a network of interconnected green spaces. Bringing seedlings from Wang Chan into the city is a way to cultivate awareness and values of environmental stewardship to pass on a better environment and stable quality of life to future generations. Over the past three years, the Bring a Tree Home project has already delivered over 600 seedlings, and in the coming years, EnCo aims to expand this initiative while promoting the concept of nature conservation more broadly to disseminate knowledge and encourage a green society for everyone.”

The seedlings distributed in this year's event include a variety of trees and vegetable plants such as Cassia fistula, Golden Shower, Sritrang, Payom, Water Rosewood, Tamarind, Chompoo, Chamong, Shama, Eggplant, Tomato, and Chili, which help absorb carbon dioxide. There are also ornamental plants and small to medium-sized trees known for their pleasant scents, which help create relaxation and reduce stress. The trees and vegetable plants not only provide lush shade throughout the year but also yield edible produce and support the ecosystem at home.

“In addition to the seedling distribution activity, this year EnCo has also created an eco-friendly experience through a workshop on making ‘Aromatic Wood Air Fresheners’ using natural materials to promote the use of environmentally friendly products and reduce chemical use in daily life. This aligns with the urban lifestyle that seeks a relaxing atmosphere both at home and in the workplace, while also creating a value chain that connects people and nature systematically. EnCo hopes that the power of learning and action today will inspire long-term care for nature for a better world in the future,” Mr. Sirisak concluded.
