One Bangkok, a global lifestyle hub in the heart of Bangkok, is proud to be part of “Bangkok Design Week 2026” (BKKDW2026), the largest design festival in Southeast Asia. Under the main theme “DESIGN S/O/S”, which translates to “Signals of Survival”, the event aims to open perspectives on “design” as a tool and power to help “create/survive” for businesses, cities, and a more sustainable world. It welcomes all ideas for change, providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect in business networks and expand collaborations to an international stage that reaches further than ever before. This year, One Bangkok has prepared a variety of creative programs through three main activities that reflect the idea of using art and design as key mechanisms to enhance quality of life, spark inspiration, and strengthen Bangkok's potential as a livable, investable, and touristic metropolis, taking place from January 29 to February 8, 2026.

Jarintip Chumuenwai, Senior Director of Arts and Culture and Senior Director of Brand Strategy for One Bangkok, stated, "One Bangkok has been a supporter of Bangkok Design Week for the fifth consecutive year as a key partner dedicated to promoting art, culture, and design in a tangible and continuous manner. We place great importance on education and the creative community, having worked and grown together throughout this festival, sharing the belief that all sectors walk the same path with a common goal of developing a creative space open to the new generation while driving the future of Thai art and design sustainably. This year's activities aim to empower young artists, designers, and students by providing space for experimentation, exchange, and the development of creative ideas to collectively shape a strong Creative Ecosystem that aligns with One Bangkok's vision of making art, culture, and design a vital force in urban life and the lives of people."

The three highlight activities from One Bangkok at Bangkok Design Week 2026 include:

  1. Open Airwaves: A Sonic Portrait of Bangkok – Creative Waves: Echoes of Bangkok – A highlight activity created in collaboration between One Bangkok and Bangkok Community Radio (BCR), transforming One Bangkok Park into "Open Airwaves," a dynamic pop-up recording booth and studio designed to invite everyone to explore the world of sound and be part of a "Living Archive" that captures the sounds, lifestyles, and thoughts of people in Bangkok, emphasizing the importance of free and creative expression in an era where cultural community spaces are changing.

Inside the bright orange booth, symbolizing urgency and action, serves as a 'signal' inviting people to stop and unleash their creative energy. Participants can find DJ equipment and musical instruments, along with a camera to capture every important moment, whether trying out as a DJ, singing, or writing short lyrics. Professional-grade musical instruments supported by Alphatheta will enhance the experience, allowing everyone to create and record their work easily. Outstanding works will be selected for publication on the online platforms of BCR and One Bangkok throughout the festival week, serving as another key mechanism to support and create opportunities for the creative community. Additionally, there will be live performances from guest artists and renowned DJs over the weekend.

  1. Exhibition of Student Designs from Silpakorn University and National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) Taiwan at The Storeys Gallery – Showcasing works from the collaboration of students from both institutions, opening a cultural dialogue between "Thailand" and "Taiwan," two regions with strong craftsmanship roots, under the concept “Green Craft × Life Aesthetics × Local Culture”. This focuses on finding environmentally friendly materials and production processes, reinterpreting local identities, and designing for practical use rather than just display, seamlessly integrating with the aesthetics of urban living today by combining local crafts with sustainable design, using natural materials, and applying 3D printing technology to traditional craftsmanship.
  2. Young Architect Conference (YAC 2025-2026): Exhibition and Seminar on the Future of Architecture at One Bangkok Forum, Level 1 – Presenting works from 121 emerging architects from Thailand, Japan, and Germany, in collaboration with students and scholars in architecture from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi and Bangkok University, along with Kyoto Institute of Technology in Japan and TH Köln or University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, Germany. This will provide new perspectives on innovations and trends in design that blend local and global ideas to expand understanding in the modern era, along with a seminar on Saturday, January 31, 2026, featuring architects from all three countries.

Join us to experience a variety of activities curated by One Bangkok, inviting everyone to discover answers and create new directions for the future of Bangkok throughout Bangkok Design Week 2026 from January 29 to February 8, 2026. Admission is free.
