SCX Corporation Partners with Vasticity Assets to Expand Solar Energy Business, Launches Smart Solar Energy Solutions to Enhance Green Industrial Property with Over 100,000 sqm of Solar Rooftop Installation, Reducing Tenant Costs and Supporting Net Zero
SCX Corporation, a subsidiary of SC Asset, is advancing its Engine 2 portfolio to expand its logistics and clean energy business under the concept of "The Way Forward." This initiative aims to enhance the potential for developing Green Industrial Property, increasing competitiveness and generating recurring revenue. The company has launched the "Smart Solar Energy Solutions" to install over 100,000 sqm of solar panels across all SCX Logistics warehouses, reducing tenant costs, increasing business revenue, and sustainably minimizing environmental impact, supporting Thailand's journey towards Net Zero. The project is strengthened by the expertise of clean energy specialists, Vasticity Assets, who will enhance service offerings to clients, starting with the pilot project at SCX Logistics Bangna Km. 20.

Mr. Rachad Nuntakwang, CEO of SCX Corporation, revealed that the company is preparing to expand its recurring revenue business, or Engine 2, under the vision of The Way Forward. This involves developing a new business model that integrates solar energy service solutions to strengthen warehouses, creating “Smart Solar Energy Solutions” that help clients reduce energy costs while aligning with modern energy and environmental standards.
“Today's logistics clients are looking for more than just warehouses and factories; they want projects that enable efficient business operations in terms of infrastructure, facilities, and manageable energy costs, especially with the continuously increasing demand for green energy. The development of Solar Smart Warehouse solutions is a strategic move for SCX Corporation's warehouses to grow alongside the ESG standards of both domestic and international clients,” Mr. Rachad stated.
The Smart Solar Energy Solutions will involve the installation of Solar Rooftop systems across all SCX Logistics projects, covering a total area of over 100,000 sqm. This will generate more than 20 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity, equivalent to 29,200,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, including related system installations. It is expected to reduce energy costs by approximately 20-30% and decrease greenhouse gas emissions by about 14,600 tons of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e) per year, which is comparable to planting 1.62 million trees.

Mr. Rachad further stated that the Smart Solar Energy Solutions will enable SCX Corporation's operations to be sustainable by creating value in three dimensions: 1. People - providing tenants access to clean energy without upfront investment, reducing energy costs, and meeting the ESG standards of multinational companies aiming to lower greenhouse gas emissions; 2. Planet - helping to reduce the country's greenhouse gas emissions, supporting the national goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050, while reinforcing the Green Logistics and Green Industry objectives of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Industry; and 3. Profit - generating new revenue for the company from selling solar energy under Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), accounting for approximately 10-15% of rental income, while reinforcing the company's image as a developer of Green Industrial Property in Thailand. The company has partnered with Vasticity Assets as a strategic partner with over 10 years of experience in clean energy and ESCO (Energy Service Company) technology to ensure operations meet targets.

Mr. Thanawat Wongnapachanj, Managing Director of Vasticity Assets, stated that the company has continuously prioritized clean energy development. Although solar energy is still viewed as an "alternative" today, the company clearly sees that solar energy will become a crucial infrastructure of the energy system in the future. The collaboration with SCX, which shares a vision to promote Smart Solar Energy Solutions in the manufacturing and logistics sectors, will help lay the foundation for sustainable energy and genuinely meet tenant needs, leading to the creation of a stronger Green Ecosystem and supporting sustainability in both economic and environmental aspects for the country.

Vasticity Assets will strengthen the engineering processes, installation, and comprehensive energy management systems to ensure that the systems can produce electricity according to targets and support the expansion of usage across all SCX Logistics buildings in the future. Initially, there are plans to install Solar Rooftop systems in the pilot project at SCX Logistics Bangna Km. 20, covering approximately 20,000 sqm in the first phase by 2026, before expanding installations across the entire project by 2027 and subsequently to all SCX Logistics projects, aiming for completion by 2028.
