Sansiri reaffirms its commitment to creating a sustainable environmental turning point, confident in Phuket's potential to become a destination for sustainability and design interconnected through the exhibition 'AQUA PLAYGROUND' at the creative space of The Society Social Space in Cherng Talay-Bang Tao. In collaboration with PIPATCHARA, a Thai eco-friendly fashion brand, the project elevates design by transforming underwater fishing waste into over 700 outdoor art installations, igniting ongoing environmental conservation efforts that genuinely benefit the area and community. The exhibition coincides with Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025 and welcomes everyone to visit for free from today – January 31, 2026.

The AQUA PLAYGROUND will create another significant environmental turning point, inspiring everyone and sparking sustainability within organizations to pay more attention to reducing environmental issues through creative design. Sansiri is the first organization to aim for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and continuously promotes waste management under the project 'Waste to WORTH: Separating Waste for Benefit. This initiative encourages systematic and efficient waste management, maximizing the recycling of waste and reducing the amount that needs to be landfilled or incinerated, starting from within the organization, construction sites of all projects, and community residents through education on waste separation to reduce waste and recycle for reuse.

From discarded fishing nets in the sea to “AQUA PLAYGROUND,” a creative work that inspires and connects the community to become more livable.

“Phuket is a destination that Sansiri values and grows alongside the people of Phuket. Good development means creating sustainability that genuinely benefits the area and community.”

‘Art’ is a universal language accessible to everyone. We want to ignite the idea that

continuous intention can transform ‘worthless waste’ into creative art that protects the community and makes our Phuket more livable.”

Sansiri and PIPATCHARA collaborate to create art from leftover fishing nets in the sea into a giant puzzle art installation of over 700 pieces, elevating fishing net waste into contemporary design under the concept AQUA PLAYGROUND, interpreting the brief from both Sansiri and Phuket as Inclusive Growth, focusing on sustainable growth together with the people of Phuket, and The Society, a social space that welcomes everyone under the concept Connect + Inspire through designs that reflect the power of upcycling.

The design of Infinitude, the signature symbol of PIPATCHARA, has been developed and scaled up over 500 times to become an outdoor sculpture that allows for freeform creativity.

‘AQUA PLAYGROUND’ reduces fishing net waste in the sea by a total of over 1,500 kilograms from the production of modular giant puzzle pieces, all 700 pieces, where each modular piece can reduce fishing net waste by up to 1–2 kilograms.

Furthermore, the AQUA PLAYGROUND pieces are designed to harmonize with nature, featuring three main colors: blue, green, and burgundy red, made from 100% pure fishing nets, developed in collaboration with UBE factory to enhance the color and material properties suitable for design. This sculpture will serve as a medium that connects everyone of all ages to play and learn about sustainability together with the giant art piece, allowing limitless imagination to create their own works freely in this inspiring space.

Every year, over 640,000 tons of fishing nets are discarded or lost in the sea, and these nets can float in the ocean for up to 600 years, causing significant problems for marine life, including whales, dolphins, turtles, and seals that may ingest net fragments or become entangled, leading to injury or death, and also damaging coral reefs, which are homes to many marine animals.

Sansiri believes that the AQUA PLAYGROUND project will convey the brand's intention to inspire the younger generation to see that sustainability and environmental care are not distant issues but can be creatively integrated into our lives beautifully. The AQUA PLAYGROUND exhibition welcomes everyone to experience “art for the environment in an inspiring space” at The Society Social Space, Cherng Talay-Bang Tao, Phuket, with free admission from today – January 31, 2026.
