Metro Art, an art space in the heart of the city at Phahonyothin MRT Station, continues to enhance its support for Thai art and youth. This year, Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) in collaboration with Bangkok Metro Networks Co., Ltd. (BMN) has opened the Metro Art space to host the APRSAF - 31 Poster Contest 2025 (live drawing round and finals) under the theme “Lunar City”, organized by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA). This initiative aims to encourage youth to develop their creative skills and communicate through art, expressing limitless imagination through artworks that reflect the future of humanity in the context of space travel and living beyond Earth, while providing an opportunity to represent Thailand on the international stage at the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF-31) at Phahonyothin MRT Station.

The concept of “Lunar City” allows youth to explore distant dreams and express their views on the future of cities in unfamiliar territories through diverse artistic perspectives, including technology, environment, society, culture, and coexistence in new colonies. These themes stimulate imagination and integrated learning in the modern world.

Dr. Araya Panurach, Managing Director of BMN, representing BEM, stated, “We are extremely proud that GISTDA has provided the opportunity for Metro Art at Phahonyothin MRT Station to become a starting point for inspiration and an important platform for youth to express their thoughts, dreams, and imagination through art under the theme ‘Lunar City’. This encourages Thai children to think about settling on the moon and powerfully reflects the perspectives of the new generation on the future of humanity.”

“What we see from this event is not just beautiful artworks, but the potential waiting to be unleashed, the creative power that needs to be nurtured. Therefore, BMN aims to expand this project in the long term by promoting similar activities in the future, including rotating exhibitions for talented youth, workshops with leading artists, creating a youth art network in public transport, and collaborating with government and private sectors to systematically develop artistic skills. We believe that Thai children have abilities equal to anyone in the world, as long as they are given the right opportunities and platforms to express themselves. This is what we are committed to creating through this project,” Dr. Araya added.

The APRSAF - 31 Poster Contest 2025 finals will select three outstanding works to represent Thailand in the competition (sparkles) in the Philippines, which include:

  1. Miss Nualan Rueanthavee from Sawangboriboon School
  2. Miss Pawarisa Asana from Chonburi Kindergarten
  3. Miss Yingluck from Wat Ruak School

Additionally, there will be two Popular Vote awards:

  1. Master Rungroj Prawinthap from Theerasart School
  2. Miss Siriphat Thuraharn from the Krabi Art School

And 10 honorable mentions to support every creative idea of the youth.

Throughout the event, the Metro Art space will also be open to the general public and MRT users to view the exhibition of the contestants' works, along with ongoing Art Workshops every day from 07:00 AM to 09:00 PM, creating an atmosphere of learning, inspiration, and participation in the world of art as part of the travel experience.
