- Expanding to communities, moving forward to provide upcycled products to public areas, aligning with the "15-Minute Park" policy in Bangkok to enhance the quality of life for citizens.
In an era where the world faces severe environmental crises, Sansiri, Thailand's leading real estate developer aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, has stepped up as a leader in the significant transformation of the Thai real estate sector. By being the first in the country to collaborate with Bangkok, they are promoting sustainable waste management policies through the #WasteToWorth and #NotJustTrash initiatives, encouraging waste separation from the source and creating new value from recyclable waste, thereby reinforcing the crucial role of the private sector in supporting government environmental policies.

Joining forces with Bangkok to create a new chapter for the future
By 2025, Sansiri is ready to elevate the outcomes of the #WasteToWorth project, which began within the organization, to a city-wide level through collaboration with Bangkok. This reinforces Sansiri's commitment to sustainable urban and community development, receiving training from the Bangkok Waste Management Office on systematic and proper waste management for their engineering teams, Plus Property teams, and all project juristic persons to prepare for the implementation of the new waste fee rates in Bangkok starting October 1, 2025.

From a housing developer to a leader in global change
Building on the vision of the #WasteToWorth project, Sansiri has recently launched the #1Project1Product campaign, which aims to transform "waste materials" into "valuable resources" through limitless creativity. Utilizing the design expertise of architects, engineers, and construction workers, they are repurposing leftover materials from over 80 construction projects nationwide to create new products through upcycling processes, such as exercise equipment made from concrete scraps, park benches made from rubber straps, and chairs made from leftover metal. These products are not only aesthetically pleasing and functional but also valuable, leading to tangible results that positively impact the environment and society. This includes reducing waste by 45 tons, accounting for 71% compared to the total waste volume in 2024, increasing recycling rates to 54% in construction areas, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 5.4 tons of CO2 equivalent, and producing over 150 upcycled products from waste materials.

Expanding to communities, creating a sustainable city 360 degrees
The greatness of this project goes beyond waste management; it also revolutionizes the lifestyle of communities by delivering upcycled products to communities, schools, and construction camps of Sansiri for full utilization. Through collaboration with Bangkok, selected upcycled products are distributed to the general public to support the "15-Minute Park" policy of Bangkok. Upcycled products, including exercise equipment, tables, chairs, and outdoor furniture, are provided to Ekkamai Forest Park, a new public park in the heart of the city in Wattana, ensuring that citizens can access green spaces within a 15-minute distance from their homes. Additionally, Sansiri is committed to improving the quality of life for construction workers, who are the creators and drivers of this significant change, by incorporating upcycled products into the camps to enhance their comfort and quality of life alongside sustainable urban development.

Sansiri plans to expand the campaign to a broader society by delivering upcycled products to schools in need of furniture, such as Wat Mai Bamrungtham School in Suphanburi, to fully utilize them for outdoor recreational activities, while also creating additional height-increasing exercise equipment to promote health and sustainably improve the quality of life for all students and staff.

The collaboration between Sansiri and Bangkok represents an integration of the private and public sectors in addressing urgent environmental issues in the country, particularly the growing waste problem in major urban areas. This initiative aims to create a broad positive impact and is expected to inspire and serve as a model for waste management policy development at the provincial level and within the Thai real estate industry.
