Deloitte has announced the launch of new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities on Omnia, its global cloud platform for Audit & Assurance services, designed to enhance the audit and assurance experience while driving Deloitte's commitment to innovation through advanced technology. As external environments and client businesses evolve, this new GenAI capability will enable auditors to navigate the increasing complexities of the business world through agile and systematic solutions.

“AI is a key driver of innovation in the audit profession. Continuous investment in advanced and flexible technology allows our personnel to expand their capabilities to effectively meet changing demands while maintaining quality and reliability as core principles,” said Lee Boon Teck, Audit & Assurance Regional Managing Partner, Deloitte Southeast Asia.

Enhancing the Audit Process with GenAI

Building on the award-winning Omnia platform, this new Generative AI (GenAI) capability will transform key processes in auditing, including:

  • Document Review Optimization: GenAI can review audit documents during the preliminary audit phase and suggest improvements for clarity and consistency.
  • Improved Navigation in Financial Statements: Auditors can quickly explore relevant information in uploaded draft financial statements and ask in-depth questions about the content, making the audit and data verification process more systematic and efficient.
  • Enhanced Data Extraction Processes: GenAI can summarize information from various documents, allowing auditors to discover deeper insights and summarize findings more quickly.
  • Advanced Drafting Capabilities: GenAI-powered systems can draft documents for communication and preliminary accounting records.
  • Improved Research Capabilities: New capabilities on Deloitte's audit research platform enable auditors to receive quick answers while synthesizing complex accounting topics to uncover new insights.
  • Proactive Risk Management: Deloitte is developing risk analytics technology that can assess external data to identify risk events and factors that may impact the audit.

“Deloitte is committed to quality and excellence in personnel, processes, and technology. The Omnia platform is part of our ongoing efforts to empower our highly skilled audit personnel with solutions designed to enhance specialized skills and promote growth and success in a rapidly changing environment,” said Chanthira Chantharachaichoti, Audit & Assurance Transformation Leader, Deloitte Southeast Asia.

Next Steps: Empowering Auditors with AI Agents

As the next step in the evolution of the Omnia technology, Deloitte is set to enhance the Omnia ecosystem by integrating intelligent Agents, which are digital AI assistants capable of specialized tasks, remembering key information, and coordinating with other Agents within an interconnected system.

These AI capabilities are developed under Deloitte's Trustworthy AI™ Framework, embedding governance, control, and compliance mechanisms throughout the AI lifecycle to maintain quality standards and enhance user trust.

Technological Innovation and Commitment to Continuous AI Development

Since its launch in 2015, the Omnia platform has continuously evolved to incorporate new technologies aimed at delivering high-quality audit experiences tailored to the challenges faced by clients in various contexts. Last year, Deloitte received the ‘AI Innovation Initiative of the Year’ award from the International Accounting Forum and Awards for the development of GenAI on Omnia.

Deloitte remains committed to integrating GenAI across the organization to empower personnel, having developed specialized language models and Chatbots for internal use, which currently have nearly 85,000 users in the audit and assurance sector worldwide, with over 3 million prompts used on the Chatbot system within the first year of operation.

Additionally, Deloitte has expanded its AI technology services externally by launching the Global Agentic Network, a network of ready-to-use AI Agents to assist Deloitte professionals in effectively advising clients on enterprise-level technology adoption.
