Worawut Monitors Progress of the Community Housing Project in Suphanburi, Uya 1, Highlighting Success of Housing Loans for Low-Income Earners and Continuing Efforts to Improve Quality of Life
Mr. Worawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, visited the site to monitor the progress and quality of life improvements for residents in the community housing and social service project in Suphanburi (Uya 1). He also handed over homes to 57 recipients who were approved for loans from the housing development loan program for low-income earners. This included 51 general clients and 6 vulnerable groups, with a total loan amount exceeding 45.875 million baht. The event took place on April 21, 2025, at the community housing and social service project in Suphanburi (Uya 1), located on Uya-Donjeadi Road, Don Kamyan Subdistrict, Mueang Suphanburi District, Suphanburi Province.

Mr. Taweepong Vichaidit, Governor of the National Housing Authority, stated that the housing development loan program for low-income earners is a crucial mechanism to assist those who cannot access loans from financial institutions, enabling them to truly own their homes. This will help reduce inequality and sustainably enhance the quality of living. He affirmed that the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security's policy will continue to support low-income and vulnerable groups in obtaining quality housing and a good living environment. During the same occasion, the Minister also distributed survival bags to 7 vulnerable individuals, including 5 elderly people and 2 bedridden patients. Additionally, the National Housing Authority organized community health promotion activities, such as distributing effective microorganisms (EM), teaching how to make dishwashing liquid for immediate use, and providing knowledge on waste sorting to create value from waste. There were also booths for waste management activities in the community, starting from waste sorting, wet waste, recyclable waste, and plastic waste. Nowadays, waste can be converted into money, as improving the quality of life for community members is equally important. Therefore, the National Housing Authority encourages community members to participate in maintaining their own community, as good community development must begin with community involvement, leading to a sustainable and strong community. Since 2020, the National Housing Authority has approved loans totaling 1,785.116 million baht for participants in the housing development loan program, helping 2,758 low-income and vulnerable households to own their homes. In 2025, an additional 408 households were approved for loans, totaling 250.121 million baht, focusing primarily on general clients and vulnerable groups.

The Governor of the National Housing Authority further added that the Suphanburi Community Housing Project (Uya 1) consists of a total of 322 residential units, including 186 two-story twin houses with approximately 21 square wah of land, featuring 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a washing area, starting at 850,000 baht, and 136 two-story row houses with approximately 16 square wah of land, also featuring 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a washing area, starting at 710,000 baht. This project is designed based on the concepts of ECO VILLAGE and UNIVERSAL DESIGN, and it guarantees energy-saving homes rated "5" by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). There are also plans to develop green spaces to serve the surrounding community equally.
