Veranda Resort Public Company Limited, or 'VRANDA', has announced the soft opening of Veranda Resort Phuket, offering special room rates starting December 9, ahead of a price increase during the full opening in mid-January 2025, as Phuket's tourism market enters the peak season. Room rates are expected to rise in line with demand, contributing to a projected 37% growth in hotel revenue from full-year operations.

Mr. Phawatak Ongwasit, CEO of Veranda Resort Public Company Limited (VRANDA), a leader in the hotel, resort, real estate development, and lifestyle business, revealed that following the completion of Veranda Resort Phuket, the hotel has begun accepting soft opening bookings during this peak season. The hotel will offer ocean view and ocean front beach front pool suites, which customers can book starting December 9, 2024, through the website www.verandaresortphuket.com, with stays available from December 24 onwards. Prices will increase during the full opening in mid-January 2025 to accommodate the high season for Phuket tourism, which begins in Q4 2024 and continues into Q1 2025.

Recent data from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Phuket Office (TAT Phuket), indicates that over 10 million tourists have visited Phuket in the first 10 months of this year (January-October 2024). This figure is comparable to the pre-COVID levels of 2019, generating tourism revenue of over 390 billion baht. For 2024, Phuket aims for tourism revenue of 420 billion baht, which is highly feasible as Phuket tourism enters the peak season, impacting room rates. It is expected that the occupancy rate for 4-5 star hotels during the peak season will reach 90% or higher, while high-end room rates may increase by 15-20%, and medium hotel rates may rise by about 10-15% compared to last year.

Mr. Phawatak further stated that the opening of Veranda Resort Phuket with 159 rooms and the expansion of Rocky Boutique Resort - Veranda Collection Samui with an additional 20 rooms will increase the total number of rooms in the VRANDA chain by approximately 25%, from 681 to 860 rooms. It is anticipated that in 2025, the average daily rate (ADR) for hotels in the VRANDA chain will grow by 12%, resulting in total hotel revenue of 1.65 billion baht, a growth of about 37% from this year.
