Metthier Launches METTRIQ: A Comprehensive Smart Building Management Platform Connecting Public and Private Sectors from Smart Buildings to Smart Sustainable Cities
Metthier Co., Ltd. has launched METTRIQ, the first comprehensive smart building management platform in Thailand. This platform gathers data to enhance security, manage energy costs, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions in each building, addressing ESG goals in both public and private sectors, and driving Thailand towards a tangible and sustainable Smart Sustainable City.

Mr. Kayan Tantichatiwat, CEO of Metthier Co., Ltd., stated that the push for Thailand to become a Smart City has been discussed for many years, but development has been slower than planned in terms of infrastructure and technology, often having technology without the necessary data. According to the IMD Smart City Index 2024, which surveyed 142 cities worldwide to rank Smart Cities based on five key dimensions: Health & Safety, Mobility, Activities, Opportunities, and Governance, Bangkok has fallen from 78th place in 2020 to 88th in 2023, and this year has only slightly improved to 84th. In Asia, we rank 22nd, while our neighboring Singapore ranks 5th globally and 1st in Asia. The five dimensions emphasize creating clear outcomes in two main areas: City Structure led by the government and Technology driven by the private sector. In the Health & Safety dimension, a clear difference can be seen between Singapore and Thailand. Singaporeans rated air pollution and public safety as 'not a problem' at 64.9 and 80.4 points, respectively, while Thais rated these issues at only 32.9 and 50 points. In terms of technology, both Singaporeans and Thais rated the installation of CCTV cameras as enhancing feelings of safety at 80.8 and 75.1 points, respectively. Singaporeans rated online reporting as speeding up city maintenance at 70.2 points, while Thais rated it at 60.2 points.

Mr. Kayan continued that the above report shows that air pollution and public safety issues can be addressed effectively with technology. In Southeast Asia, Thailand has approximately 65,167 CCTV cameras, while Singapore, which is much smaller, has 109,072 cameras. Singapore's case study shows close collaboration between the public and private sectors, utilizing CCTV and IoT technology in both urban infrastructure and buildings, resulting in over 60% faster response times to various situations, a 15% reduction in labor dependency, and a 40% decrease in reporting time.

As a leader in property management, what Metthier envisions today is to assist each building in collecting various data (Big Data) to leverage AI and IoT for enhancing security and managing environmental and energy issues sustainably. This is the foundation for developing METTRIQ, the first comprehensive smart building management platform in Thailand, which will enable small to large operators prioritizing ESG to access a modern open platform for efficient and sustainable building management.
METTRIQ (Metthier Reformative IQ) is a smart building management platform developed from AI and IoT technology, focusing on data analysis and presenting results in Digital Twin and 3D Visualization formats to improve resource management efficiency and lead to sustainable building management in the future. METTRIQ is the first comprehensive smart building management platform in Thailand that integrates 12 features into one platform, including CCTV systems, automatic access control systems, visitor management systems, metal detectors, air quality monitoring systems, lighting control systems, HVAC systems, fire alarm systems, escalator and lift control systems, air flow systems, electricity management systems, and water management systems. Additionally, there is an AI assistant that advises users on sustainable energy usage according to ESG principles.
If Thailand is to advance towards becoming a Smart City in the near future, both the public and private sectors must collaborate to make this a reality. METTRIQ is another platform we have developed to connect the dots and enhance the management of each building, improving safety and increasing efficiency in energy management and carbon emissions reduction. From one building, we can scale to thousands, tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of buildings, ultimately creating a significant change in the broader picture of the country and helping Thailand move closer to a Smart Sustainable City that is safe and environmentally friendly more quickly and sustainably.
