SCGD Announces Commitment to NET ZERO 2050, Becoming the First and Only Leader in Surface Decoration and Sanitary Ware Business in ASEAN with a Goal to Achieve Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Mr. Namphol Malichai, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of SCG Decor Public Company Limited (SCGD), led the management team at the event “SCG the Possibility for Inclusive Green Growth” held at SCG's headquarters recently, announcing the commitment to “NET ZERO 2050” to become the first and only leader in the surface decoration and sanitary ware business in ASEAN with a target to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050. Additionally, the company aims to increase the proportion of environmentally friendly products to 80%, boost the use of renewable energy and solar power to 15%, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions from production processes by 25% by the year 2030, which is just 6 years from now. To achieve these objectives, SCGD has been continuously investing in initiatives such as increasing the installation of heat recovery systems from biomass fuel-fired kilns to replace natural gas fuel, and adding another 5.5 megawatts of solar panels, along with continuously producing products that reduce the use of natural resources.

SCGD has been continuously implementing energy management projects across its production bases in Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia, aiming to manage production waste and utilize renewable resources effectively. This is achieved through research and development of innovations to enhance the value of recycled raw materials and waste, as well as integrating environmental technologies to continuously develop products and improve production processes. The company adheres to the ESG framework with the same standards across all production countries, enabling it to manage energy costs efficiently and create a significant competitive advantage for the business.
