Chonburi is a province in eastern Thailand known for its many famous tourist attractions. The key tourist city is Pattaya, which boasts beautiful beaches and coastlines ideal for relaxation, such as Bang Saen Beach and Pattaya Beach. Chonburi is also a significant economic hub in eastern Thailand, contributing to commerce and various industries. The province borders Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, Rayong, and the Gulf of Thailand to the west.

Additionally, Chonburi offers many interesting attractions for tourists who enjoy making merit, seeking blessings, and experiencing the local lifestyle. For example, Sam Wang Floating Market in Phanat Nikhom is a quaint, rural-style floating market filled with a variety of food and goods amidst a serene atmosphere under the shade of bamboo groves and natural canals.

Phanat Phon Buddha Hall in Phanat Nikhom houses the ancient Phanat Phon Buddha statue, estimated to be around 1,200 to 1,300 years old. This statue, carved from fine black stone, exhibits artistic characteristics similar to Mon art from central Thailand between 1100 and 1150 AD.

Sam Muk Shrine in Ang Sila is an ancient shrine over 103 years old, located on Sam Muk Hill. This shrine is renowned for its sacredness, especially among merchants and fishermen who often come to pray before heading out to sea. Popular offerings include young coconuts, mooncakes, and fruits. Those who have their wishes fulfilled often express gratitude by setting off firecrackers and purchasing necklaces to offer to the statue of the goddess.

Another notable site is the Na Jaa Shrine, also known as Na Jaa Shrine in Ang Sila, located along the coastal road from Ang Sila to Sam Muk Hill. This shrine is one of the most famous in Thailand, featuring beautiful Chinese architecture and standing four stories tall, with the tallest dragon pillars. It is also home to all the deities according to Chinese beliefs.

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, in 2023, Chonburi welcomed over 23 million tourists, a 58% increase, with 9.54 million being foreign visitors, marking a 414% rise. The total tourism revenue reached 233.68 billion baht, with foreign tourists contributing 148.12 billion baht, an increase of 486%.

In terms of occupancy rates, Chonburi experienced the highest growth compared to nearby provinces like Rayong and Chanthaburi, achieving a 78% occupancy rate in 2023, a 24% increase.

Data from the Thai Real Estate Information Center reveals that in 2023 (January to December), there were 14,449 units of property transferred to foreigners, valued at 73.16 billion baht. In Chonburi, 5,935 condominium units were transferred, making up 41.1% of the total.

Chinese buyers accounted for the highest number of condominium transfers nationwide, with 6,614 units, representing 45.8% of the total. The next four nationalities with significant transfers were Russia (1,260 units, 8.7%), the United States (631 units, 4.4%), Myanmar (564 units, 3.9%), and Taiwan (532 units, 3.7%).

Regarding the average size and price of condominiums in 2023 (January to December), the average size of units transferred to foreigners was 45.6 square meters, with an average price of 5.1 million baht per unit, or approximately 110,981 baht per square meter. Myanmar had the highest average transfer value per unit at 6.6 million baht, while the United Kingdom had the largest average unit size at 56.5 square meters. Chinese buyers, who had the highest proportion of transfers, had an average transfer value of 5.2 million baht per unit and an average unit size of 39.5 square meters.
