Phuket Drives Towards Becoming Thailand's First Low Carbon City Model
Mr. Montavee Hongyok, President of the Phuket Provincial Industry Council, is pushing to establish Phuket as Thailand's first Low Carbon City model, aiming to create a long-term environmentally friendly living space. This initiative is in collaboration with Pure Energy Public Company Limited, a long-standing expert in clean energy, which pioneered the electric buses in Bangkok and operates the country's largest charging station network.

The partnership between the Phuket Provincial Industry Council and Pure Energy Public Company Limited aims to promote the growth of the tourism and business sectors, positioning Phuket as Phuket Green Island; Low Carbon City.
6 Investment Strategies in Phuket Green Island include:
- Phuket International Airport Development: Promoting Phuket International Airport to reduce CO2 emissions
- Green Electricity: Generating power from hybrid solar cells and batteries
- EV & Charging Station: Upgrading airport vehicles to EVs
- Installing electric vehicle charging stations at the airport - Promote & Marketing: Encouraging the sale and use of EVs for commercial and public transport in Phuket
- Investment in Charging AC/DC: Identifying key areas for charging stations
- Joint Venture with Local Network: Promoting water tourism using E-Ferries in collaboration with local private sectors for transport and tourism in Phuket
