Sirikit National Convention Center is moving forward to reinforce its status as a 'Green Meeting Center' by partnering with AIS to support proper E-Waste management. The center has set up an electronic waste collection point to encourage digital-age Thais to dispose of waste correctly, promoting a better quality of life for the community and sustainable environmental practices.

Sirikit Center is the first convention center in Thailand to join the 'Thai People Without E-Waste' initiative with AIS, aiming to separate electronic waste from other types of waste and transfer it to specialized agencies for proper disposal. An E-Waste collection point is available at the information counter on the LG floor.

Mr. Sutthichai Banditvorapoom, Deputy Managing Director of NCC Management and Development Co., Ltd., the executive of Sirikit National Convention Center, stated, "We are pleased to participate in the 'Thai People Without E-Waste' project with AIS, which emphasizes the proper disposal of electronic waste, aligning with our main mission to prioritize sustainability in environmental preservation and community development.
Visitors to Sirikit Center or nearby communities can bring electronic waste, such as mobile phones, tablets, chargers, headphones, and batteries, to dispose of at the collection point within the center. Additionally, we have set up separate bins for different types of waste to facilitate proper disposal for our visitors, ensuring that sorted waste enters the recycling and upcycling processes to promote circular economy practices by utilizing resources efficiently and beneficially."

Ms. Saichon Supamakudom, Acting Head of Public Relations and Business Relations at AIS said, "As a digital service provider, AIS is committed not only to developing an intelligent communication network as the country's core technology infrastructure but also to implementing sustainable business practices in all dimensions, especially in environmental aspects. Today, AIS is advancing the creation of an ecosystem for managing electronic waste under the 'Thai People Without E-Waste' project, from raising awareness about the issue to establishing collection processes for electronic waste to enter a Zero Landfill recycling process according to international standards, through collaboration with various partners. This time, we have Sirikit National Convention Center as part of our Green Partnerships network, sharing the same goal of sustainably addressing electronic waste issues. Visitors to Sirikit Center or those attending meetings, exhibitions, or fairs can bring electronic waste to the collection point within the center for proper disposal."

Because sustainability is a core mission, Sirikit Center emphasizes environmentally friendly building design, utilizing technology innovations for energy savings, pollution control, efficient water use, and landscaping that connects the buildings to the green spaces of Benjakitti Park. This collaboration in the 'Thai People Without E-Waste' project with AIS truly reflects Sirikit Center's leadership in sustainability.
