Origin Launches Environmental Waste Reduction Campaign at the Origin Save The World Run 2023
The event concluded grandly with the "Origin Save The World Run 2023 organized by Origin Property Public Company Limited led a team of executives, partners, residents, environmental enthusiasts, and artists from Origin Music, with over 2,000 participants running to demonstrate their commitment to protecting the planet and the environment, focusing on promoting recyclable materials for beneficial reuse. The event took place at Suan Luang Rama IX, the largest public park and botanical garden in Bangkok, featuring three distances: a 10 km mini-marathon, a 5 km micro-marathon, and a 3 km family run. A total of 60,000 plastic bottles were recycled to produce running shirts and eco-friendly bags, along with a donation of 100,000 baht (one hundred thousand baht) to the Ramathibodi Foundation, represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Achariya Sarowat.
Ms. Arda Jarunek, Chairperson of Origin Property Public Company Limited, or ORI a comprehensive real estate developer, stated that the environmentally friendly running event "Origin Save The World Run 2023 is one of the activities aimed at raising awareness about Zero Waste and environmental consciousness, focusing on collaboration with runners to pay attention to every detail and prioritize the environment to help reduce waste and plastic, addressing global warming issues. This includes the production of eco-friendly running shirts, where each shirt is made from 20 recycled 500 ml plastic bottles. The commemorative medals are made from reclaimed wood and marine debris, with a design that allows the lanyard to be reused as a badge holder or keychain. The Race Kit fabric bag, used for carrying running gear, is made from 10 plastic bottles. This event successfully recycled a total of 60,000 bottles.

“This is the second running event organized by Origin Property. We are thrilled and delighted to receive an overwhelming response, with over 2,000 runners signing up to participate. The proceeds from this event, after deducting expenses, will contribute 100,000 baht to the Ramathibodi Foundation. The event also promoted the use of biodegradable food containers, and runners were encouraged to wash their utensils after use and donate them to temples and communities. Another highlight of this event was the waste sorting stations set up for runners to separate waste into categories: food scraps, containers, plastic bottles, and liquid waste. Waste generated at the event will be recycled in various ways, such as food scraps being turned into fertilizer, general waste into fuel, and recyclable waste into new plastic products. Even leftover drinking water can be used to water plants.” Ms. Arda stated.
