The Future Energy Asia and Future Mobility Asia events are significant avenues to help Thailand achieve its energy and environmental goals through a platform for business collaboration and building partnerships in the energy and automotive industries. This involves coordinating between businesses, innovators, and policymakers to create significant strides in overcoming the three energy challenges (Energy Trilemma): energy security, affordable energy access, and environmental sustainability.

To drive significant advancements in energy and automotive sectors, it is anticipated that by 2030, the economy of Southeast Asia will rank as the fourth largest in the world, with energy demand in the region expected to triple from 2013 to 2030.

Mr. Prasong Inthanonphai, Deputy CEO of Strategy Management at PTT Public Company Limited stated that PTT has positioned Thailand as a regional hub for liquefied natural gas. The transition to a low-carbon pathway is not only driven by environmental regulations but also presents significant economic opportunities. Thailand can create new jobs, stimulate economic growth, and enhance energy security by embracing clean energy solutions.

Mr. Thanathit Vichai Phairoj Wong, Assistant CEO of Corporate Strategy at PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) mentioned that PTTEP aims for net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with plans to increase the share of natural gas production while seeking investment opportunities in new energy forms, including utilizing innovations and technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, ensuring a better environment for future generations.

Mr. Prasertsak Cheungchawano, Deputy Governor for Strategy at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) noted that the energy industry is rapidly changing. Collaboration and building partnerships among sectors and agencies are crucial for creating pathways to mitigate the long-term impacts of climate change. The Future Energy Asia and Future Mobility Asia events serve as important platforms for stakeholders to share knowledge, exchange views, and work together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy system.

Mr. Christopher Hudson, President of DMG Events Global Energy stated that this year, we continue to push Thailand to become the regional hub for energy transition in Asia, believing that the path to achieving carbon neutrality is not just about shifting from traditional fossil fuels to renewable energy sources but also requires restructuring energy systems, improving efficiency and accessibility, and integrating new technologies.
