Opening of Architect 66: Concept 'Tam Thad: Time of Togetherness' - A Grand Exhibition of Architectural Ideas and Innovations
The Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage, led by Mr. Chana Sampalang, President of the Association, inaugurated the Architect 66 - Architect 23 event under the theme 'Tam Thad: Time of Togetherness'. This is the largest architectural technology and construction product exhibition in ASEAN, marking its 35th edition, with over 800 participating companies from Thailand and abroad showcasing cutting-edge construction products and innovations. The event also highlights the collaboration of four professional associations and one council at the central activity area Human Library, Challenger Hall, Impact Muang Thong Thani from April 25 to 30, 2023.

This year marks the first collaboration of five professional organizations, led by:
- Ms. Pui Fai Khunawat, Event Chair from the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage
- Ms. Theeranuch Kransut Wongwaisayawan, Co-Chair from the Association of Thailand Interior Designers
- Mr. Mangkorn Chaiyajaroenmaitree, Co-Chair from the Association of Thailand Landscape Architects
- Asst. Prof. Komkrit Thanapeth, Co-Chair from the Association of Thai Urban Planners
- Mr. Korakot Khunalangkar, Co-Chair from the Council of Architects
Ms. Pui Fai Khunawat, Event Chair from the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage stated, "This is the 35th edition of the event, aimed at showcasing advancements in architecture and raising awareness of the architect's role in society through various exhibitions and activities. A special feature of Architect '66 is the collaboration of five professional organizations, each with unique highlights in their respective areas. The Association of Siamese Architects will present the 'Human Library', where stories are shared through conversations with real authors, featuring various 'human books' sharing real-life experiences, such as Amata Luhaiphoon, Boom Thrisorn, June Sekino, and Pa Ted - Yuthana Boon-Om. Additionally, there will be the 'All Member: Design Showcase', an exhibition displaying design works from architects and designers across the four professional associations, including the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage, the Association of Thailand Interior Designers, the Association of Thailand Landscape Architects, and the Association of Thai Urban Planners."
Ms. Theeranuch Kransut Wongwaisayawan, Co-Chair from the Association of Thailand Interior Designers mentioned, "For TIDA, the highlight activity is the 'TIDA Salone' or Design Showcase, featuring collaborations between designers and material suppliers, along with contractors creating various rooms for visitors to explore. This event will also present the TIDA Thesis Awards for student thesis projects and TIDA Awards for professionals, with this year's entries being particularly competitive. Furthermore, TIDA has prepared TIDA Talk sessions for those interested in learning about interior design perspectives and processes in the TIDA SOCIETY zone, available throughout the event."
Mr. Mangkorn Chaiyajaroenmaitree, Co-Chair from the Association of Thailand Landscape Architects stated, "At Architect '66, TALA will showcase important aspects of the architectural profession in Thailand and the region, providing a clearer understanding of landscape architecture through the 'TALA CLASSROOM' space, where everyone can sit, chat, and listen in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, similar to friends sharing information. Everyone is invited to visit the TALA booth."
Asst. Prof. Komkrit Thanapeth, Co-Chair from the Association of Thai Urban Planners said, "The TUDA exhibition area at Architect '66 will feature the TUDA ZEB zone showcasing thesis works and research from educational institutions, the TUDA X Muang zone displaying designs for Pattaya and other cities where TUDA is involved in urban development activities, the TUDA X Mhu zone or TUDA and Friends showcasing outstanding design and development works, the TUDA Khak zone showcasing urban design works by TUDA members, and the TUDA Muan zone providing a space for members to relax, converse, and hold discussions."
Mr. Korakot Khunalangkar, Co-Chair from the Council of Architects mentioned that the Council has prepared the ASA ACT Forum 23 activity, aimed at enhancing understanding of the profession across all four branches among architects and the general public. The goal is to foster a broader understanding of the collaborative processes in architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, and interior design, with discussions featuring speakers from Thailand and three other countries from April 25 to 30.
Mr. Supaman Makha, Deputy Managing Director of TTF International Co., Ltd., as the organizer of Architect '66, revealed that this year’s event will cover an area of 75,000 square meters, featuring innovative products and services in design and construction from over 800 companies, with a significant increase in foreign participation by 7 times or 21.33% compared to last year, including exhibitors from Australia, China, Finland, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the United States. Additionally, local exhibitors will also introduce innovative products at the event, including brands like SCG, TOA, VG, MAKITA, JORAKAY, TOSTEM, GREENLAM, DOS, ADVANCED MATERIAL, and many more.



Highlight activities not to be missed throughout the 6 days:
- Thematic Pavilion - A special exhibition area created through collaboration between designers and construction material suppliers, showcasing the potential of products that can achieve more than expected. This year features four areas:
1. VG and TOA collaborating with designers from Hypothesis
2. WOODDEN collaborating with PAVA architects
3. EMPOWER STEEL collaborating with ACa Architects
4. THAIKOON STEEL and THAI PREMIUM PIPE collaborating with Context Studio
These four booths will elevate the event's creativity and design to be on par with international standards.
- BIMobject Live Thailand 2023 - A seminar updating trends in Digital Construction that aims to lead the construction industry towards Net Zero using cutting-edge tools from BIM and AI, along with an in-depth look at the design and construction process of the 'Sinthorn Village', a prototype Mixed Use project in Thailand featuring advanced architecture, conducted under economic, social, and environmental principles by A49, Thai Obayashi, and Siam Sindhorn on Friday, April 28, from 1:00 PM to 5:15 PM at the central stage INNO-CORNER.
- Activities for exchanging ideas with designers, such as ARCH TALK from SCG, EXCLUSIVE TALK from brands like JORAKAY, DOS, WILSONART, etc.
All of this will take place at Architect 66, with an expected attendance of up to 300,000 visitors this year and an anticipated economic impact exceeding 22 billion baht after the event.
