LPN Partners with SCGC and Wake Up Waste to Reinforce Commitment to Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Inviting Employees to Sort Waste Through the 'Sort and Earn' Activity for a Sustainable World
L.P.N. Development Public Company Limited (LPN), led by Mr. Prabhan Sak Raksaiwan Chairman of the Subcommittee on Environmental and Social Responsibility, in collaboration with Ms. Kwanrak Leuangchaikun, Circular Economy Leader at SCG Chemicals (SCGC), a leading chemical innovation company, and Mr. Wichakarn Plodkathok, along with Ms. Patthaporn Wongpiyasathit, Co-Founder of Wake Up Waste, a platform that ensures efficient waste collection and recycling, organized the first-ever 'Sort and Earn' activity.
The objective is to sort and reduce waste, which is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions affecting the environment today. The initiative aims to educate employees and affiliated companies, as well as co-owners and tenants in the Lumpini Tower on Rama 4 Road, about the importance of environmental issues that are urgent on a global scale. This requires cooperation from all sectors to achieve sustainable results promptly. In addition to properly recycling various materials, employees can also sell them for additional income.
The 'Sort and Earn' activity reinforces that LPN prioritizes environmental issues. Waste sorting promotes the circular use of limited resources, reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills, which is the first step towards “Zero Waste”. It also helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the source. LPN has set goals and operational guidelines under the 6 Green LPN strategy to achieve Carbon Neutrality (where CO2 emissions equal CO2 absorption), aligning with the government's policy aiming for Thailand to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.
As a result of the 'Sort and Earn' activity, greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 189 kilograms of carbon dioxide, equivalent to planting 16 trees. LPN plans to continue organizing similar activities throughout the year as part of its commitment to help make this world a better place.
