One Bangkok is a comprehensive real estate project with the highest quality standards and the largest in the heart of Bangkok, and The PARQ is a mixed-use lifestyle project under the concept of Life Well Balanced, both supporting the Bangkok Art Biennale 2022, an international contemporary art festival for the third consecutive year.

Under the theme CHAOS: CALM, the exhibition showcases world-class artworks from three leading Thai and international artists, further promoting Bangkok as a global destination for contemporary cultural arts. It invites the Thai people to find joy and elevate their spirits through closer appreciation of art at The Prelude One Bangkok and The PARQ from now until February 23, 2023.

Charintip Choomuenwai, Chief Curator and Executive of Art and Culture for One Bangkok and The PARQ, stated, "Art and culture are at the heart of the One Bangkok and The PARQ projects. We are committed to making One Bangkok and The PARQ significant landmarks in the art scene by presenting public art and various art programs, collaborating with both local and international artists, and supporting both Thai and foreign art. This creates opportunities to utilize the project's spaces to build a community for art lovers.

For the Bangkok Art Biennale 2022, we are pleased to continue our support for the third year, featuring artworks from three artists, both Thai and international, displayed at The Prelude One Bangkok and The PARQ, including:

  • Chitti Kasemkitvatana, an independent artist and curator from Thailand, known for his work Uninspired by Current Events.

  • Francesco Arena, an independent artist and sculptor from Italy, emphasized that participating in this significant art event reinforces our commitment to valuing art and culture in building a meaningful community, allowing art enthusiasts to enjoy, find happiness, and elevate their spirits through closer appreciation of art, while helping us achieve our goal of promoting Bangkok as a prominent destination for contemporary cultural arts.

This year's Bangkok Art Biennale 2022 is honored to have renowned art experts from Thailand and abroad participating, including curators and advisors led by Professor Dr. Apinan Poshyananda, Executive Director and Artistic Director of the Bangkok Art Biennale, along with 73 artists from 35 nationalities showcasing over 200 contemporary artworks at significant locations in Bangkok, without limitations on art forms, including virtual spaces, physical works, mixed techniques, and the use of advanced technology, installation art, sculpture, multimedia, film, and music, reflecting the current image of Bangkok for everyone to experience and providing new perspectives and creativity to the Thai art scene.

Professor Dr. Apinan Poshyananda stated that the Bangkok Art Biennale 2022 conveys the unpredictability everyone faces during this time, whether from the COVID-19 situation, climate change, or social and political instability. The theme CHAOS: CALM invites artists to interpret the contrasting meanings of these words, presenting artworks that convey deep meanings, reflecting the awareness of life's fragility, as well as inclusivity, acceptance of diversity, and gender differences.

Highlights of the artworks displayed include:

At The Prelude One Bangkok
SilentDREAM by Chitti Kasemkitvatana, an independent artist and curator, presents a multimedia installation inspired by personal interests in 'space' and 'time', showcasing the process of converting 'images' into 'sounds', with significant inspiration from modernity initiated by King Rama IV, the mural paintings of Khrua In Khong in the ubosot of Wat Bromniwas Rajaworawiharn, and current socio-political methods. Chitti's exhibition emphasizes the mutual influence of sound waves and reflects the overlapping of various timelines in the exhibition space.

At The PARQ
BAB Café, 3rd Floor: Peasant Park by Uninspired by Current Events, a graphic artist known for posting artworks reflecting daily events and news, presents a humorous video installation that satirizes society through various monuments in Thailand and Bangkok, in the artist's unique style, free from restrictions on freedom of thought.

Q Space, 1st Floor: Daily Stone by Francesco Arena, an independent Italian artist who creates installations and sculptures from large natural stone blocks to hold today's newspapers, reflecting the continuous changes of daily events, while the stone base remains unchanged for millennia. This piece conveys both permanence and transience, two elements of the work that only become complete and meaningful when the newspaper and the stone base are together.
