Sky ICT collaborates with AOT and partners to enhance SAWASDEE by AOT, transforming it into a Thailand Travel Super App that meets the needs of travelers.

Sky ICT and AOT are revolutionizing Thai tourism through digital innovation, anticipating a full recovery of passenger numbers by 2024. They aim to develop SAWASDEE by AOT into a Thailand Travel Super App, joining forces with major Thai partners to revitalize tourism and enhance services both inside and outside airports, catering to both Thai and international travelers. They are collaborating with the Tourist Police to launch Tourist Help, providing immediate safety assistance. Additionally, travelers can purchase travel insurance at special rates from Muang Thai Insurance, and enjoy shopping through SAWASDEE Pay, while accumulating AOT Points. Members of King Power-PT Max Card and various credit cards can transfer points to redeem special privileges and discounts of up to 50%.

Mr. Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, President of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), stated that as the COVID-19 situation improves and many countries lift travel restrictions since early 2022, the number of foreign visitors to Thailand has been steadily increasing. AOT predicts that in 2023, the six airports will see an increase of up to 96 million passengers, recovering to 68% of pre-pandemic levels, and expects to return to normal with 142 million passengers by 2024.

Mr. Sitthidech Mailap, CEO of Sky ICT Public Company Limited, a leader in developing innovative Digital Platform and AI-Empowered Solutions, emphasized that the development of the SAWASDEE by AOT application into a Thailand Travel Super App is a significant step in integrating technology with people's lifestyles. This will transform Thailand's image and elevate the tourism service sector into a tangible digital age for the first time, aligning with Sky ICT's concept of CONNECTING THAILAND, which aims to connect technology with the daily lives of Thais and complete Thailand's tech ecosystem for the future.

"Thai tourism will undergo a complete transformation next year. In addition to the gradual recovery of tourist numbers, the demand for services may also change. AOT is therefore introducing digital technology to enhance services in all dimensions, pushing SAWASDEE by AOT to become the main travel companion for tourists throughout their journey, which will modernize Thai airports and provide the best experiences for both Thai and international travelers, maintaining Thailand's status as a top tourist destination loved by people worldwide," Mr. Nitinai added.

Mr. Kayan Tantichatiwat, Chief Marketing Officer of Sky ICT Public Company Limited, stated that AOT and Sky ICT aim to deliver a unique travel experience to tourists under the concept of “GATEWAY TO THAILAND”, collaborating with various Thai partner organizations to enhance new features on SAWASDEE by AOT addressing three key areas:
1. Digital Airport Experiences - Enhancing experiences within the six airports: Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Hat Yai.
2. Digital Lifestyle - Enhancing spending services and special privileges.
3. Digital Travel Safety - Enhancing safety and convenience in travel.

The SAWASDEE by AOT application features include “Flights” that connect to the Flight Board data from the airport, allowing users to search for incoming and outgoing flights, save flight details in advance, and receive notifications for any changes. The “Queue Time” feature displays wait times in three zones within the airport: check-in, security screening, and passport control, helping travelers not to miss their flights. The “Taxi Reservation” service allows for quick taxi booking exclusively for app users.

SAWASDEE Pay is a digital wallet developed in collaboration with Krung Thai Bank (KTB) to provide a fun shopping experience for tourists, allowing spending with debit and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard) at partner stores both inside and outside the airport, with discounts of up to 50% at various locations such as The Coral Lounge and over 15 brands of SSP Thailand restaurants within the airport, including The Pizza Company, Bonchon, Burger King, Dairy Queen, and Potato Corner. Every transaction earns AOT Points that can be redeemed for privileges or transferred with various partners like CARAT from King Power, PT Max Card from PTG gas stations, and credit card points from Bangkok Bank, Krungsri Bank, Krung Thai Bank, and Siam Commercial Bank.

Tourist Help collaborates with the Tourist Police to provide assistance and ensure safety for tourists, with communication available in six languages: Thai, English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Russian. The “Insurance” service offers travel and accident insurance at special rates, providing coverage throughout the journey from Muang Thai Insurance (MTI), a leading national insurance partner.

Additionally, the SAWASDEE by AOT application supports up to eight languages: Thai, English, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Russian, with features to be gradually launched soon, such as Airport Free Wi-Fi for free internet access within the airport, Premium Services offering Butler & Buggy services, and AR technology being developed to assist tourists at various points within the airport, along with other services in collaboration with partners.
