Mr. Siripong Somboon, CEO of D-Land Group Co., Ltd., a leading real estate developer in the southern Bangkok area, Rama 2-Samut Sakhon, the eastern zone, the western Bangkok zone, and Ratchaburi province, revealed that D-Land Group operates its business alongside a commitment to creating a society of volunteers to pass on goodness and positive contributions back to the community.
Starting with the Good People Project (Sharing Happiness Brings Joy) in 2015, the company has organized over 17 ongoing projects to date. In the past, the company has brought together volunteer teams of employees, residents, and business partners to improve classrooms, libraries, playgrounds, and cafeterias, provide educational equipment to schools in remote areas lacking development, assist schools affected by natural disasters, donate funds to hospitals in need, repair homes for the underprivileged, enhance health gardens for public health, and engage in marine conservation projects, among others.
In 2020, the company established the Good People Foundation under the concept of creating a volunteer society, focusing on sustainable and continuous social development. The main mission is to promote and develop education, particularly for children from impoverished families, improve living standards for the underprivileged, conserve and develop the environment, promote public health, and collaborate with charitable organizations or other public benefit organizations. From December 1-3, 2022, the foundation will deliver opportunities and share warmth and happiness with children while enhancing classrooms to create a conducive learning environment, providing educational supplies, sports equipment, warm clothing, shoes, and toys to students at Ban Nong Bua School, a branch classroom in Ban Mokleakhee, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province. Most students are from the Pga K'nyau or Karen ethnic group. This branch classroom is the most remote learning location in Tha Song Yang District, offering classes from kindergarten to sixth grade, situated 833 meters above sea level. The journey is quite challenging, taking over four hours to travel 54 kilometers on unpaved roads, making it impossible for large vehicles to access during the rainy season, posing a significant travel obstacle.
“Thailand still faces educational inequality, with many rural schools in remote areas and schools with limited budgets struggling with a lack of educational supplies and basic necessities. D-Land Group is committed to assisting underprivileged schools by awakening the consciousness of employees to understand the importance of giving and sharing with society, finding joy in being a giver. Additionally, we serve as a bridge of goodwill, collecting donations of food, stationery, educational supplies, and toys from those who wish to contribute, to deliver to marginalized schools in remote and underserved areas, providing opportunities for youth in these distant regions to improve their quality of life,” Mr. Siripong stated.
The Good People Foundation (Sharing Happiness Brings Joy Project 2022) invites everyone to contribute to the “Sharing Happiness Brings Joy” project. A donation of 249 Baht will receive a limited edition t-shirt. Donations can be made to the account of the Good People Foundation at Bangkok Bank: 923-3-005249.
