UOB Thailand Leads Over 1,500 Employees, Customers, and Business Partners in the 2022 UOB Global Heartbeat Run/Walk
Executives and employees of UOB Thailand, along with their families from across the country, as well as over 1,500 customers and business partners, participated in the annual “UOB Heartbeat Run/Walk” event, raising 3 million baht to improve the quality of life for underprivileged youth.

The UOB Global Heartbeat Run/Walk is a social volunteer event organized annually by UOB Bank. This year, it took place in 18 countries worldwide. In line with the bank's commitment to stand by the community, the funds raised in Thailand will support the Education Empowerment Project, the Food for Good initiative, and the Scholars of Sustainability Foundation, continuing the commitment to enhance the quality of life for underprivileged youth by providing better access to digital learning and nutrition, as well as supporting underserved communities.

Mr. Tan Choon Hin, CEO of UOB Thailand, who participated in the 3-kilometer run, stated, “The UOB Global Heartbeat Run/Walk demonstrates the bank's commitment to standing by the community in improving living standards and enhancing society. Every year, UOB employees come together to showcase the power of giving through fundraising and various volunteer activities. Additionally, it is a great opportunity to invite family, friends, and business partners to join in spreading positivity together. I believe that the donations raised from this event will significantly impact the quality of life for the recipients by providing essential living supplies and enhancing skills to meet the demands of the digital future.”

The UOB Global Heartbeat Run/Walk Returns to Normal Format
The annual UOB Global Heartbeat Run/Walk for 2022 returned to its regular format at Chatuchak Park, just as it has been held every year. In addition to Thailand, UOB banks in four other countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam, also held the event on the same day.
UOB Thailand has also acted on its commitment to environmental care by reducing the ecological footprint from the UOB Global Heartbeat Run/Walk this year. This includes producing medals that can be used as coasters, allowing registration and BIB collection through digital channels to reduce paper usage, providing recycling bins for plastic bottles, and encouraging all participants to use their own water bottles. Additionally, two waste sorting points were established to collect all types of waste for recycling, in collaboration with GEPP Sa-Ard, a digital platform and waste management solution, to sort waste during the event and recycle it into various products, such as turning food scraps into organic fertilizer.

The UOB Global Heartbeat Run/Walk is part of the UOB Heartbeat CSR Programme, a corporate social responsibility initiative of UOB Bank Group aimed at sustainably giving back to the community through public benefit activities, partnerships with businesses, and employee engagement. By adhering to the bank's values of integrity, creativity, unity, and commitment, the bank collaborates with employees, customers, and business partners to share for a better community.
