Marriott International hosted the Asia Pacific General Managers Summit (excluding China) for 2022 in Bangkok under the theme 'Shape Tomorrow'. This marks the first meeting since 2019, reinforcing Marriott's commitment to promoting Thailand as a popular destination for travelers worldwide, with over 500 general managers from across the region attending this significant annual event.

The three-day conference began with a presentation of Marriott's strategic plans to achieve its vision in the region by Rajeev Menon, followed by emphasizing the company's purpose of connecting people through the power of travel and how Marriott will continue to grow in a time of global economic volatility. Anthony Capuano, CEO of Marriott International, also shared insights on Marriott's organizational culture that prioritizes 'employees first', which will remain a key factor in enhancing the company's competitiveness, as noted by David Marriott, Chairman of Marriott International.

This General Managers meeting provided an opportunity for general managers to reconnect, share, and learn insights about branding, technology, revenue management, sales, operations, food and beverage management, and other key issues. It was also a great opportunity to exchange ideas with other executives. In addition to discussing strategic priorities, the meeting served as a platform to recognize and celebrate the hard work of general managers over the past two challenging years.

During this visit to Thailand, Marriott's leadership team also met with the Minister of Tourism and Sports, emphasizing their shared vision of promoting Thailand as a popular destination for tourists through sustainable approaches. Additionally, Marriott highlighted its commitment to the Thai economy, supporting employees and communities, as well as efforts to respond to the emerging trend of combining business travel with leisure.
