Supalai, a leading real estate company, has joined forces with the giant SCG to promote the use of construction materials certified with the SCG Green Choice label. This initiative aims to create over 100 housing and condominium projects across the country while actively reducing greenhouse gas emissions to combat global warming and support sustainable organizational development.

Mr. Traitecha Tangmattatham, Managing Director of Supalai Public Company Limited, stated that the company specializes in real estate development with a commitment to sustainable organizational development in terms of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). This commitment starts with the design of housing projects that harmonize with the surrounding environment, such as preserving large trees in the area for natural shade. Additionally, Supalai's housing and condominium designs are based on the concept of Green Design, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.

In 2022, the company aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25% within three years (2022-2024) to support government policies on greenhouse gas reduction and contribute to global sustainable development goals. Supalai collaborates with business partners who prioritize environmental care, including SCG, a long-standing partner known for its environmentally friendly construction materials and SCG Green Choice certification. Notably, Supalai is the first real estate company to receive the SCG Green Choice Sustainable Leader award, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable environmental preservation.

The company is dedicated to selecting energy-efficient materials that reduce global warming, conserve resources, and extend the lifespan of materials in developing over 100 housing and condominium projects nationwide. This includes launching 34 new projects in 2022 and more in the following year. These efforts enable residents in Supalai's housing and condominiums to save on water bills, such as using Cotto faucets and sanitary ware, which can reduce household water usage by up to 516,787,053 liters annually.

Moreover, Supalai and its residents contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from material production by 564 tons, equivalent to the carbon dioxide absorption of 47,000 trees in one year, by using eco-friendly materials like CPAC concrete, lightweight bricks, Q-Con, and SCG eaves wood. Additionally, ceramic floor and wall tiles, Grace porcelain tiles, and Cotto mosaic tiles help save 7,650,132 liters of water during production. SCG insulation replaces natural sand, while SCG concrete roof tiles and prefabricated roof structures save steel usage. The choice of these materials depends on the specific needs of each Supalai project.

Mr. Nithi Patrachok, Managing Director of Cement and Construction Products Business at SCG,  stated that SCG, as a manufacturer and distributor of construction materials, prioritizes the development of environmentally friendly construction products, services, and solutions. This includes efficient resource use through high-efficiency production processes that address energy savings, extend product lifespan, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thereby mitigating the impacts of global warming and enhancing the well-being of residents through SCG Green Choice certification for environmentally friendly products that reduce greenhouse gas emissions during production, such as eco-friendly concrete, lightweight bricks, and eaves wood.

This shared commitment will play a crucial role in driving environmental sustainability in the construction industry, promoting the sustainable growth of the Thai construction sector alongside the economy, society, and environment in the future.
