PEA ENCOM, a subsidiary of the Provincial Electricity Authority, has joined forces with SHARGE, a market leader in EV Chargers, to establish a joint venture called "ENCOM CHARGE". This partnership aims to sell EV Chargers and provide installation services in residential areas across the country, hoping to enhance the EV infrastructure and transform the country's future. The focus is on targeting homeowners and condo owners in each province, making access easier and more comprehensive, supporting Thailand's transition to a low-carbon society. Additionally, the venture plans to expand into Behind Meter clean energy businesses, such as solar energy, elevating to Smart Solutions with expert services readily available. SHARGE aims to solidify its position as the number one EV Charger provider in the residential market, targeting 2,000 charging points nationwide by the end of this year.

Mr. Khemrat Satripracha, Acting Managing Director of PEA ENCOM International Co., Ltd. (PEA ENCOM), a subsidiary of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), stated that the company recognizes the pollution issues caused by traditional fossil fuel energy use. Therefore, it is committed to promoting the use of renewable and clean energy in Thailand by investing in and supporting new energy businesses to sustainably develop renewable energy usage. Recently, the company partnered with SHARGE, a leading provider of EV Charging Solutions, to register a joint venture under the name ENCOM SHARGE UTILITY SERVICES CO., LTD. to jointly sell EV charging equipment and provide installation services in residential areas, including homes and condominiums across various provinces nationwide.

“Both SHARGE and we share a common vision to enhance the EV infrastructure to meet the future demand of users nationwide. PEA ENCOM has a strong network of electrical energy experts ready to serve in every region, while SHARGE possesses expertise in EV Chargers and a deep understanding of consumer needs in the residential market. We believe that this joint venture will transform the country's future in line with global clean energy trends and help propel Thailand towards a low-carbon society,” said Mr. Khemrat.

Mr. Pirapat Sirichantaropas, Managing Director of SHARGE, a leader in creating an EV Charging Ecosystem to meet sustainable lifestyle needs, revealed that this joint venture with PEA ENCOM is part of the vision to Scale Up EV Future, focusing on strengthening the essential EV infrastructure by building a Stronger Ecosystem and collaborating with new partners to expand the EV charging ecosystem nationwide. This joint venture will help broaden the sales and installation services of EV Chargers to general users (B2C) in various provinces, allowing homeowners and condo owners to easily access purchasing and installation options for EVs in their own provinces, thus ensuring that Thailand has sufficient EV Charger infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for electricity and the anticipated rise in EV users in the future.

“A major concern for those considering buying an EV is the fear of not having charging stations, especially for those in rural areas. Therefore, if we envision a future where Thais switch to EVs, we must break down this barrier and make access to EV Chargers as easy as possible. Together with PEA ENCOM, we will leverage our strengths and utilize our networks across the country to create accessible and comprehensive EV Charger services, ensuring that EV Chargers are not just a concern for urban residents anymore,” Mr. Pirapat stated.

The joint venture, ENCOM SHARGE UTILITY SERVICES CO., LTD., will commence operations in two main areas: 1. EV Charger Business, providing comprehensive services from selling EV Chargers to installing related equipment in residential areas such as homes and condominiums in various provinces, targeting homeowners and general users, along with after-sales services like maintenance by expert teams from both SHARGE and PEA ENCOM.

2. Behind Meter Business, offering services behind the meter in residential areas, enhancing clean energy or renewable energy solutions that PEA ENCOM is already implementing by integrating SHARGE's EV Charging Solutions with other renewable energies, such as solar energy, to create Smart Energy Solutions as a new option for those seeking to use renewable energy.

Previously, SHARGE has been the number one provider in the residential EV Charger market (No.1 Residential EV Charger). It is expected that this joint venture will significantly contribute to SHARGE's growth in the residential market, maintaining its strong number one position, with a target of no less than 2,000 charging points in residential areas by the end of this year.
