HOMA Phuket Town: A New Standard for Sustainable Co-Living
HOMA reinforces the concept of sustainability, promoting a new standard and a better lifestyle for living in Thailand. As a pioneer in the Co-Living apartment project, it has appointed a sustainability officer to drive the environmental commitment and social responsibility of the HOMA Phuket Town project, which is set to open this October.
“HOMA Phuket Town” is a Co-Living apartment project that reveals advanced environmental and social impact practices, setting a new standard for sustainability in Thailand and promoting a better living experience.
“HOMA Phuket Town” is a new value-for-money apartment created with environmental friendliness in mind. It is a joint venture between Asia Capital Real Estate (ACRE) and NOON Capital, located in the heart of Phuket's historical and cultural district. It offers 505 stylish rental units equipped with amenities and services comparable to international hotels, elevating the lifestyle and living experience for tenants in a pure atmosphere, closer to nature, and inspiring a better life every day.

The environmentally friendly living innovation of “HOMA Phuket Town” focuses on reducing carbon dioxide emissions and energy savings by utilizing solar energy from rooftop solar panels, generating renewable energy for all areas of the project. Additionally, energy-saving devices and LED lighting, which is about 70% more efficient than traditional lighting, have been installed, along with advanced air conditioning systems that consume significantly less energy than conventional systems.
These practices will help “HOMA Phuket Town” reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by approximately 325 tons per year, equivalent to planting nearly 5,400 new trees over a decade or reducing the number of cars on the road by 70 vehicles annually.

Tenants of “HOMA Phuket Town” can truly enjoy fresh air, as the project regularly monitors air quality and uses modern furniture made from 100% recycled wood. It also employs Low E glass designed to reduce ultraviolet light and control the internal temperature of each unit. Furthermore, “HOMA Phuket Town” utilizes recycled water for garden irrigation and preserves large trees on-site during construction to provide natural shade and promote biodiversity within the project.
The goal of the best sustainability practices for “HOMA Phuket Town” and all new projects in the “HOMA” portfolio is to achieve international standards for green buildings under the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE Advanced) certification, overseen by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, the most widely recognized green building rating system in the world by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
“HOMA Phuket Town” has appointed Conor Brannum as the sustainability officer, who is passionate about the environment. He graduated from Arizona State University and is an expert in ecological solutions in the commercial real estate sector. He has successfully completed the rigorous 5-module EDGE Technical Online Workshop and is certified by USGBC, bringing his expertise and developed software applications to drive “HOMA”'s environmental efforts towards becoming a truly green residential project.

Luca Dotti, founder and managing director of HOMA, stated, “At HOMA, we are deeply committed to reducing environmental impact by designing and developing buildings that use energy and resources efficiently. We are rigorously working to preserve the planet and ensure a better quality of life for our residents. Additionally, the savings we achieve in the long term will positively impact the building's value and lead to higher rental rates while reducing utility costs.”
To ensure that sustainability practices and compliance are aligned, ACRE has partnered with AECOM, a leading infrastructure consulting firm, to develop various low-impact strategies used in the design and construction of buildings, which will help mitigate the heat impact on the island of Phuket and cool the environment inside and around “HOMA Phuket Town”.
“HOMA Phuket Town” is scheduled to open in October 2021, offering various styles of accommodation, including contemporary studio apartments, duplexes, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom units, all designed and decorated to meet the needs of modern residents amidst lush greenery. It features hotel-style amenities such as an infinity pool, fitness center, yoga area, kids' club, café, restaurant, and co-working space, along with a professional service team including HOMA Hosts, laundry services, cleaning services, and a 24-hour reception.
In the future, “HOMA” will launch its second Co-Living project in Phuket, named “HOMA Cherng Talay”, and another project in Chonburi called “HOMA Sriracha”. Over the next five years, ACRE plans to invest over $250 million to develop six more “HOMA” branded projects across Thailand, all designed, developed, and operated with social responsibility.
