iPrice Group, a leader in the online shopping industry in Southeast Asia (SEA), announced a new funding round of $1.5 million from Woowa Brothers, a leading food technology company in South Korea. This marks the second funding round during the Covid-19 pandemic as it moves towards becoming a Series C startup.

Woowa Brothers has recognized the rapid growth potential in the digital business sector of Southeast Asia, making a notable market entry since 2019. With an interest in joining the rapidly growing e-commerce sector, Woowa decided to partner with iPrice Group to leverage their strong performance and unique position in the industry.

Mr. Joshua Dhong, Senior Investment Partner at Woowa, stated, ‘As the e-commerce market in Southeast Asia evolves, competition among various platforms is intensifying, whether it’s due to the increasing number of sellers or the significant rise in platform visitors. Woowa believes that iPrice Group will be a price comparison e-commerce platform that helps many online shoppers in the region save both money and time.’

Currently, iPrice Group is on a mission to provide greater transparency, convenience, and trust, aiming to help online consumers save costs instead of navigating multiple marketplaces to find the best and most valuable deals. iPrice Group enables shoppers to access over 6 billion offers instantly from more than 2 million sellers on a single platform, comparing products, prices, seller reputations, and all shipping conditions in one place.

The increasing demand from users over the past few years has led to heightened expectations for a seamless online shopping experience through targeted platforms. This aligns with the statement from Mr. Paul Brown-Kenyon, CEO of iPrice Group, who said, ‘As consumers set higher expectations for online shopping through their smartphones, whether via various applications or camera apps with shopping features, iPrice Group continuously develops technology to enhance online shopping, becoming a key partner for leading platforms and super apps in Southeast Asia.’

Currently, iPrice Group has partnered with numerous major online shopping sources across the region, including Home Credit from Indonesia, Thairath from Thailand, Go Rewards from the Philippines, Boost from Malaysia, ViSenze from Singapore, and SmartPay from Vietnam, among others. Since Woowa Brothers and Foodpanda are part of the Delivery Hero service, an online food delivery service in Germany, it opens doors for iPrice Group to step in and fulfill future opportunities. With this funding, iPrice Group will actively work towards entering Series C soon, while enhancing the platform to be more efficient, modern, and fully responsive to user needs.
