Regarding the case, Dr. Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesperson for the COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), announced that two COVID-19 cases were confirmed: a 9-year-old girl from a diplomatic family from Africa and an Egyptian soldier who traveled to Thailand.

It was stated that the 9-year-old girl traveled from Africa with her family of five diplomats. The timeline is as follows:

- On July 7, the mother took the patient and the family of five for testing before traveling to a hospital in Africa, and all results were negative.

- On July 10, the patient and her family arrived in Thailand on flight MZ3277 at 5:40 AM. Screening showed no symptoms, but samples were taken for testing, which later confirmed the infection. The father took the patient to a hospital for treatment, and further tests confirmed the infection. The remaining family members were quarantined at a condo in Bangkok.

- On July 11, medical tests revealed pneumonia, leading to the patient's transfer to a public hospital for further treatment.

However, the specific location of the condo where they stayed was not clearly identified, only stating that:

“The quarantine at the residence of these individuals is under the control of their respective agencies, meaning the embassy is the responsible entity, and we trust each other. We understand that the embassy will have its own area, a territory of its own, and we respect that. When faced with such a situation, the residence becomes a condo, and we must emphasize the need for shared responsibility. There may be increased measures, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will communicate with various embassies to seek cooperation to ensure orderliness. We will learn together that this must be the case for 14 days in their location without going out.”

Most recently, on July 14, 2020, on the Facebook page of Sirote Klampaiboon, an independent scholar and journalist, a post shared an image of a document stating that anyone in One X Sukhumvit 26 on the 19th floor should be cautious. Although Dr. Taweesilp has not yet announced the name of the condo where the COVID-19 patient stayed, the condo's announcement has disclosed everything.

The document contains the following message...

COVID-19 Virus Management Measures in Case of Confirmed Infection in the Project

Announced on July 13, 2020

As the One X Sukhumvit 26 project has detected a COVID-19 virus infection residing on the 19th floor, and the residents did not use the common recreational facilities at all, only using the passenger elevator and passing through the lobby and the management office, the management has implemented the following measures immediately for the safety of all owners and residents:

1. The management has coordinated for the patient to receive treatment at the hospital on July 10, 2020, following the standards set by the Department of Disease Control.

2. The management has closed all common areas.

3. Disinfecting the common areas, including the security guard station, passenger elevators, management office, gym, swimming pool, and public restrooms, was conducted on July 14, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the closed areas, with another disinfection planned within one week.

4. Cleaning of frequently touched surfaces in the building with disinfectant will occur every hour, such as handrails, door handles, fitness equipment, etc.

5. The management has designated elevator number 1 of each building as the elevator for the infected person to use when necessary for medical services only, and it will be disinfected after each use.

6. The management has deemed it necessary to close the management office, suspend parcel delivery services, and halt all services within the units except in emergencies for one day on July 14, 2020.

7. A drop-off point has been set up where owners can pick up items themselves at the lobby of Building C.

8. During the closure of the management office, urgent matters can be contacted at 02-259-2626 or via email: [email protected], or by messaging staff through the Home Service Application.

9. Staff members who had contact with the suspected infected person have been sent for health checks and quarantined for 14 days to monitor symptoms. The company will send in replacement staff to continue operations.

Request for Cooperation from Residents

Residents who meet the following criteria are requested to contact the management office for self-care guidelines, refrain from using common areas, get health checks at a hospital, and quarantine for 14 days:

1. All residents who have traveled to high-risk countries.

2. All residents who exhibit symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, or fever above 37.5 degrees Celsius.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
