Mr. Thakorn Piyapan, Chairman of Krungsri Consumer, revealed the overall credit card market situation over the past two months, noting that it continues to show positive growth despite the increasing spread of COVID-19, which has impacted consumers. The government has implemented measures and requested cooperation from all sectors to reduce the virus's spread by encouraging everyone to work from home.

In response to the government's policy, Krungsri Consumer has introduced measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by allowing employees to work from home. For customers, Krungsri Consumer has launched two assistance measures:
Measure 1 - Reducing the minimum monthly payment rate from 10% to 5% from April 2020 to December 2021 for all customers without the need to contact or notify.
Measure 2 - Providing additional special assistance for customers directly affected, such as those in the tourism, hotel, aviation, and related service industries, as well as customers indirectly affected, who may apply for a special interest rate reduction on a case-by-case basis. Customers can register for this assistance through the financial institutions that are members of the association by June 30, 2020.

However, Krungsri Consumer anticipates that the COVID-19 outbreak will change consumer spending behavior, leading to increased spending on online products. In the recent period, the credit card spending of Krungsri Consumer from the beginning of the year until mid-March 2020 showed the highest spending in the top five categories:
1. Insurance
2. Supermarkets and hypermarkets
3. Household appliances
4. Gas stations
5. Online shopping

Regarding the growth rate of credit card spending at Krungsri Consumer from the beginning of the year until mid-March 2020 compared to the same period last year, online shopping saw a growth rate of 23%, making it the second-highest growth category, following supermarkets and hypermarkets, which experienced a growth rate of 28% compared to the same period last year.
