Announcement from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand regarding the temporary ban on aircraft entering Thailand (Version 2)
As per the announcement from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand dated April 3, 2020, regarding the temporary ban on aircraft entering Thailand, this measure is to prevent the escalation of the COVID-19 outbreak and to support the swift resolution of the emergency situation.
Due to the necessity of maintaining the continuity of these measures for effective disease prevention and control, and by virtue of the powers under Sections 27 and 28 of the Air Navigation Act B.E. 2497, the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand hereby orders as follows:
1. A temporary ban is imposed on passenger aircraft entering airports in Thailand from April 7, 2020, at 00:01 until April 18, 2020, at 23:59.
2. Any flight permissions previously granted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand for passenger aircraft to enter Thailand during the period mentioned in point 1 are hereby revoked.
3. The ban in point 1 does not include the following aircraft:
(1) State or Military Aircraft
(2) Aircraft requesting emergency landing
(3) Aircraft requesting technical landing without disembarking passengers
(4) Aircraft conducting humanitarian aid, medical flights, or transporting goods to assist those affected by COVID-19
(5) Aircraft authorized for repatriation flights
(6) Cargo Aircraft
4. Passengers on aircraft that departed from their origin airport before this announcement takes effect are subject to the communicable disease law and regulations issued under Section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations B.E. 2548, and must undergo a 14-day quarantine.
This order is effective immediately or until further notice. Issued on April 6, 2020.
