(June 18, 2019: Bangkok) The results are in for the Luxury House Design Contest: THE PHENOMENON 2, themed "We are not just building houses; we are creating wonders for the new generation" under the concept of "URBAN | NATURE | LUXURY." This campaign has provided an opportunity for students and young designers to showcase their creative ideas in a competition for a cash prize of over 300,000 baht. This is the second consecutive year organized by ACARA, a modern luxury home builder under The Emperor House Co., Ltd. This year, the winners, Ploy Thanyaporn Paiboonkitjaroen, a second-year master's student at Thammasat University, and Camp Parinyaporn Pramanil, a fifth-year student from Rangsit University, teamed up to submit their work titled "Trophy of Life," which impressed the judges and secured the first prize amidst cheers from family and friends who came to celebrate their achievement.

Mr. Suratchai Koonghakij, CEO of The Emperor House Co., Ltd., stated, "We must acknowledge that new trends come and go quickly. If we do not adapt well, we may not only fall behind but also struggle to maintain our position as number one. Therefore, in terms of quality, we are confident that we are still several steps ahead. The remaining challenge is to embrace change and welcome new ideas and target groups. Nowadays, the purchasing power of homeowners is getting younger, and the demand for luxury homes may no longer be about large houses. We need to develop new solutions that stand out and are creative. Thus, today's contest serves as a platform for all participants to showcase their abilities, ideas, and individuality. When we combine the fresh ideas of the new generation with the experience of the older generation, I believe it will create a beautiful synergy and represent true luxury."

"This year's theme emphasizes ACARA's identity as a Luxury House, creating new phenomena for the new generation. We divided the designs into two categories: Urban Luxury – homes for the new generation in the city, and Nature Luxury – vacation homes close to nature on the outskirts of the city. The works from all 11 finalist teams were filled with unique and creative ideas, and the scores were quite close. Congratulations to all teams, including the winners, those who received awards, and even those who made it to the finals, as their ideas and skills are remarkable. Next year, we will have new challenges for everyone to showcase their ideas again. I believe the Thailand 4.0 strategy will soon become outdated because everything changes rapidly. However, the advantage of change can become a tool for us to develop great products in the future."

Additionally, there were five consolation prizes of 10,000 baht each for the remaining finalists.

Ms. Thanyaporn Paiboonkitjaroen and Mr. Parinyaporn Pramanil, the winning team, shared their perspective on luxury houses, stating, "Personally, I view luxury as the aesthetics of living, a special space for relaxation that reflects the tastes of its inhabitants and creates an impression on those who see it through the house itself. The key to design lies in the context of the residents and the location. We started by analyzing the lifestyle of today's residents, noting that successful individuals are getting younger, with some purchasing Rolls-Royce cars at just 27 years old. Therefore, we focused on this aspect, such as the idea of creating a showroom within the house that can accommodate different cars each day, suitable for those who have a passion for cars. At the same time, it can be transformed into a studio or other spaces according to the homeowner's needs. We would like to thank ACARA for recognizing the importance of the new generation and designers and for organizing this campaign, The Phenomenon 2. Thank you for this award; it has made all our efforts worthwhile."

Mr. Thonnon Peerayanakoset, the second prize winner, shared his work titled "Enclose The Nature," saying, "I personally love nature, so I chose this theme and analyzed how to bring our house closer to nature. Typically, houses are enclosed by walls that separate them from the outside. I thought if we could push the walls out and replace them with clear glass that allows for visibility and natural light, we could integrate nature into the home. The heart of design, for me, is everything; user experience, construction, and space must all come together to create a good work. I am delighted that the judges appreciated our work and awarded us this prize. I am truly impressed with this campaign as it presents unique challenges and offers two interesting themes to choose from. Thank you for the opportunity to showcase our ideas through this work."
