Recently, Thammasat University (TU) and SkillLane, Thailand's leading online learning and digital training platform, announced the launch of TUXSA, an online master's degree program in collaboration with Thammasat University and SkillLane, starting with:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Business Innovation (M.B.A. Business Innovation)
  • Master's Degree in Data Science for Digital Business Transformation (M.S. Digital Business Transformation)
  • Master's Degree in Applied AI

Classes will begin in August 2019, with plans to introduce the “Applied AI” master's program next year, providing essential skills for the present and future to Thai people, aiming to enhance their capabilities to meet international standards.

Prof. Kesinee Vitoorachati, President of Thammasat University, stated, “The university has partnered with SkillLane to create an online master's program to expand educational opportunities for Thais to access new knowledge without restrictions on time and location, not limited to Thammasat students. Online learning is becoming increasingly popular in today's era, offering convenience and lower costs for learners.”

“In developing the program, we apply the Learner First principle, starting with understanding what knowledge gaps the majority of learners have in the current job market. We then design the content and recruit suitable instructors to create a curriculum that meets the needs of learners. The highlight of the TUXSA program is the opportunity for learners to choose specific subjects of interest to enhance their knowledge and skills or to earn a master's degree equivalent to that obtained from traditional university study. Learners can plan their educational budget and save on travel costs, with the flexibility to study at any time, 24/7, allowing them to balance work and study without sacrificing career opportunities.

The TUXSA program will begin with free registration for the online course on Pitching and Negotiation, co-taught by Mr. Natthawut Phungjaroenpong and a faculty member from the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, starting from May 28, 2019, and will be available online at www.SkillLane.com/TUXSA from August 2019 onwards.

Students can choose from four learning outcomes that suit their needs: learning for knowledge without credit, taking online courses to earn credits and receive a Certificate of Course Completion, completing 18 credits to receive a Certificate of Specialization Completion, or pursuing a master's degree requiring 30 credits along with meeting university and program requirements. These programs are currently awaiting approval from the Office of the Higher Education Commission and the university council.
