Bangkok (April 4, 2019) – AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited, a leading real estate developer and innovator in residential design, led by Mr. Sanphasit Fungfuangchewan, Director of Brand Strategy, has provided financial support for the Big Tree Conservation Fund, collaborating with government agencies and green partners, Big Trees and urban tree networks, to continue the mission of delivering quality living through the PROJECT GROW philosophy. This initiative focuses on sustainable growth for all lives and organized the ‘AP GROW DAY’ event at the Railway Park to spark awareness among the new generation about contributing to a better quality of life for everyone in society through every detail created by AP Thailand and its partners. This event also marks the first opportunity for the public to study the physical characteristics of large trees in the Railway Park at a height of 25 meters, covering an area of over 50 meters with professional guidance. The event featured ‘Patty - Angsumalin Siripatsakmetta’, a famous actress and representative of the new generation, on a mission to restore greenery to the city, promoting practical Reduce - Reuse - Recycle methods, and introducing eco-friendly innovations such as biochar, a chemical-free fertilizer produced through natural processes, and coconut coir pots as a new option for planting trees, concluding with music in the park by Boy - Trai Phumirat.

Mr. Sanphasit Fungfuangchewan, Director of Brand Strategy at AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited, stated, “Bangkok is a densely populated city with a continuously increasing population. The real estate business must grow alongside the city's development. We asked ourselves how, as developers, we can contribute to improving the quality of life for people in society. From the vision of AP WORLD, which AP Thailand is committed to creating a world of quality living for everyone in society, comes the idea of ‘PROJECT GROW’, a philosophy for creating a master plan for quality living alongside the design of project spaces, emphasizing the importance of increasing green areas as part of environmental preservation, and fostering a society of awareness to collectively create a community of quality living.”

“We have initiated this concept with the preservation of three ancient rain trees, approximately 50 years old and about 20 meters tall, located on the land developed for the RHYTHM EKKAMAI ESTATE project, allowing them to coexist with the community and the city. Today, all three trees have begun to sprout new branches. Additionally, during this AP GROW DAY event, AP Thailand collaborated with Big Trees and urban tree networks to ignite awareness among the new generation. Every detail created by AP Thailand and its partners stems from a sincere desire to invite everyone to join in building a quality society and to educate about new eco-friendly innovations such as biochar, a chemical-free fertilizer produced through natural processes, and coconut coir pots, which are new options for planting trees, or air-purifying plants, etc.”

AP Thailand also plans to expand the Project Grow mission further through collaboration with Big Trees and urban tree networks, such as designing special courses related to tree management in residential projects, starting from selecting tree species, observing symptoms of illness, and care, to pass on the correct knowledge about trees to both AP staff and the general public through the AP Academy or activities that raise awareness about Reduce - Reuse - Recycle.

Ms. Aroya Sutabut, founder of Big Trees, a group of urban tree conservationists with over 7 years of expertise, said, “Seeing the number of trees decrease as buildings and condos replace them in the city, we came together to do something to preserve large trees and received support from government agencies. The challenge is to change people's mindset to realize that large cities can coexist with nature without sacrificing one for the other. At today’s event, participants will gain general knowledge about easy tree care, including proper planting and soil preparation, and learn how to make biochar, which is considered an eco-friendly innovation. We are very pleased that a leading residential developer like AP Thailand recognizes the importance of green spaces and sustainable environmental conservation, leading to the pilot activity of AP GROW DAY.”

Patty Angsumalin Siripatsakmetta, a famous actress and representative of the new generation, said, “I am very happy to be part of AP Thailand’s PROJECT GROW and to see the energy of the new generation with a common goal of creating a better quality of life in society come together. The environment and quality of life can be created by our hands. Everyone in society must change their mindset that the responsibility of caring for trees does not belong solely to the government or Big Trees, but it is our collective duty. It starts with the trees in our homes, alongside learning how to care for them properly, fostering a sense of responsibility for tree preservation in everyone’s hearts. Today, I learned how to observe symptoms of tree illness, proper pruning techniques, and new eco-friendly innovations. After this, if anyone has tree-related issues, we can offer advice and share the knowledge gained today. I believe that cutting down trees or allowing them to die due to a lack of knowledge about care is not a good solution for our world’s future. I invite everyone to recognize the importance of this issue; a good quality of life can be created by all of us.”

AP Thailand continues to carry out activities that uphold the philosophy of PROJECT GROW under the concept of Reduce - Reuse - Recycle. Stay updated on news to join in creating a better quality of life for society at www.APprojectgrow.com.
