(Bangkok – March 26, 2019) PEA has partnered with Origin Property Public Company Limited (ORI) to establish a business collaboration in digital energy systems within the real estate sector, aiming to create a Smart City that enhances the quality of life for residents and maximizes the benefits of energy use. Origin plans to launch the mixed-use project "Smart District Rayong" with a project value exceeding 5 billion baht, hoping to become a new landmark in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) under the support of the PEA Hero Platform.

Mr. Khemrat Satrabpricha, Deputy Governor of Business at the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), revealed that PEA has signed a memorandum of understanding with Origin Property Public Company Limited (ORI) to collaborate on energy business projects related to digital systems in real estate for the Origin Smart District Rayong project. PEA will utilize the PEA HERO PLATFORM, which includes features such as PEA Solar Hero, PEA Energy Hero Trading, PEA Care Hero, and PEA Energy Intelligence Hero, as a medium for electricity production, energy management, and service facilitation for users in the Origin Smart District Rayong project. The development concept is divided into four main topics:

1. Smart Living - Enhancing the quality of life for residents.

2. Smart Service - Providing inspection and maintenance services for electrical systems.

3. Smart Energy - Promoting clean energy production and efficient electricity use.

4. Smart City - Overall energy management for the project.

Mr. Khemrat further stated that PEA aims to develop into a Digital Utility by promoting research and development in energy while focusing on modernizing energy business operations to better serve the public as Thailand enters the digital era. PEA is also preparing to expand its services to the ASEAN region. PEA has partnered with Origin Property, a leading real estate developer in the country, to invest in energy and smart city development for the Origin Smart District Rayong project, responding to technologies that drive development and transformation across all sectors of society, from large-scale industries to small household communities, in line with the digital lifestyle that demands convenience and speed. This will be made easier with the integration of technology, especially mobile digital technology, such as mobile platforms that facilitate various aspects of daily life, emphasizing the promotion and development of services and comprehensive digital energy management systems. This project will serve as a model for efficient energy management for other projects in both the business sector and the overall country in the future, aligning with changes in technology and new energy innovations.

Mr. Aruch Changthong, Managing Director of the EEC Business Group at Origin Property Public Company Limited, stated that the Origin Smart District Rayong project is a new mixed-use project that will serve as another new landmark in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). This collaboration with PEA will focus on developing a Smart City within the project area to enhance the quality of life for residents through innovative and valuable electricity usage, such as smart home energy management systems, solar rooftop installations, and maintenance services for electrical systems and energy management within the project.
