Bangkok (March 18, 2019) – AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited, a leading real estate developer and innovator in housing solutions, continues its vision of 'AP WORLD', dedicated to creating a world of quality living and a new blueprint for a city rich in ecosystem. Recently, it launched the concept of 'PROJECT GROW', a philosophy for creating master plans aimed at sustainable quality of life through designs that promote physical and mental well-being, the development of green spaces, environmental preservation, and maximizing benefits to surrounding communities. This initiative includes the conservation of over 50-year-old trees on the land of the 'RHYTHM EKKAMAI ESTATE' project to enhance the quality of life for the community and urban society, as trees symbolize living history and represent cherished memories and connections within the community. We are also collaborating with Big Trees and urban tree networks to ignite awareness and educate the younger generation on tree care during the 'AP GROW DAY' event on March 30 at the Railway Park.
Mr. Witakarn Chanthawimon, Deputy Managing Director of Corporate Strategy and Innovation at AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited stated, “Trees that effectively produce oxygen, reduce temperatures, and purify air typically have broad canopies and fine leaves, which is why the Rain Tree has been ranked as one of the most environmentally beneficial trees. However, the conservation of the three historical trees on the land of the RHYTHM EKKAMAI ESTATE project presents a challenge, as moving large trees while ensuring that the project area is fully utilized must be done correctly to ensure that all trees survive and can continue to grow sustainably.”

“From the vision of 'AP WORLD', which is committed to creating a world of quality living through a blueprint for a better quality of life in the future, rich in ecosystem (Eco System), the real estate development business that AP operates is closely related to urban development and the quality of life of residents. Therefore, we cannot focus solely on construction design. 'PROJECT GROW' is a philosophy that the AP team will apply to create a master plan for quality living alongside the design of project interiors, emphasizing the importance of increasing green spaces in the city, being part of environmental preservation, and fostering community awareness, starting with the most immediate issues. For AP, this begins with the conservation of large trees that must be done alongside other project development details. For the RHYTHM EKKAMAI ESTATE condominium project, which is a pilot project under the 'PROJECT GROW' philosophy for creating a master plan for sustainable quality living, AP is firmly committed to preserving the three large Rain Trees in the Ekkamai community for as long as possible. At the same time, we are looking to maximize the utility of every square inch within the project, which is why we decided to relocate the Rain Trees, each approximately 20 meters tall, equivalent to an 8-story building, with Mr. Tharadol Tanduan or 'Khru Tor', an expert arborist in urban landscape tree care, as a consultant to ensure the successful relocation and continued growth of the trees,” Mr. Witakarn concluded.

“If we look from the outside, we see that the trees appear healthy, but when the arborist team dug down, they found root issues trapped under concrete slabs, requiring the team to address the root problems before moving the trees to their new positions. Another tree was found to have a leaning trunk, which needed to be straightened to avoid future impacts on structures. The expertise and professionalism of all parties will help realize the intention to create a world of quality living for urban society under the grand vision of 'AP WORLD' successfully in the near future.” Mr. Witakarn summarized.

Recently, AP Thailand is preparing to expand and organize the 'AP GROW DAY' event to raise awareness about the importance of tree conservation and the environment broadly, aiming to bring people closer to trees. This will be done in collaboration with the government, Big Trees, and urban tree networks to expand the movement for tree conservation through various activities, including the mission to restore green spaces in the city with 'Patty - Angsumalin Siripatsarakmeth' , a famous actress representing the younger generation. For the first time, participants will have the opportunity to study nature from a height of over 25 meters with the Tree Climbing activity under the shade of 50-year-old giant Rain Trees and the Zip Line adventure through various large trees over 50 meters long, including tree education and health checks from professional arborists. The event will conclude with a garden concert featuring Boy Trai Phumirat and participants will receive special plant seedlings to take home. The 'AP GROW DAY' event will take place on March 30, 2019, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Railway Park in Bangkok.
