Bangkok (November 22, 2018) Sansiri Public Company Limited reaffirms its position as the first leader in the Thai real estate sector, creating a turning point for the future of the world with the model 'Sansiri Green Mission', reflecting the philosophy of the 'Circular Economy'. This initiative integrates innovation and technology through research and development aimed at environmental conservation and sustainable energy management. The Green Roadmap pushes forward four main commitments: Waste Management | Energy Saving & Generation | Smart Move | and Sustainability for a better world and quality of life for Sansiri residents and the global community.

Mr. Uthai Uthaisangsuak, Chief Operating Officer of Sansiri Public Company Limited stated, "With Sansiri's vision not only focused on developing or building residences, but also committed to delivering a lifestyle of living and life for customers under the customer-centric concept, where customer needs are of utmost importance to fulfill the living lifestyle of each customer group precisely. Furthermore, Sansiri is now also focused on becoming a leader to drive and set new standards for the Thai real estate industry in terms of environmental responsibility seriously and sustainably, emphasizing both reducing energy consumption and the use of natural resources that negatively impact the global environment. In the past, Sansiri has established a research and development (R&D) team and collaborated with over 20 leading global partners to develop and exchange knowledge in technology and innovation for environmental conservation and sustainable energy management, starting to implement tested research and innovations in various pilot projects such as the Cooliving Designed Home, an innovation for heat-dissipating homes, developing and installing wind turbines for electricity generation, and launching Smart Move, a 100% electric vehicle rental service platform to facilitate residents, among others."

In this sustainable future initiative, 'Sansiri' has adapted the circular economy concept to fit the company's brand DNA, driven by an attitude ready to embrace and develop new things to enhance the perfect living experience, emphasizing the importance of integrated waste management and environmental impact. This is based on two main principles: maintaining and optimizing resource use for maximum benefit and minimizing environmental impact throughout the consumption cycle, aligning with the national waste management master plan (2016-2020) to address waste issues as designated by the government as a 'National Agenda', including the draft integrated plastic waste management plan (2017-2021). This has resulted in a model under the name 'Sansiri Green Mission', which will be a significant turning point in setting the standards for the construction industry in Thailand that understands and cares for the environment, with a Green Roadmap to drive sustainability in all new projects of Sansiri under the four main commitments: Waste Management | Energy Saving & Generation | Smart Move | and Sustainability.

Mr. Uthai further stated: "We have allocated a budget of 50 million baht between 2019 and 2021, focusing on achieving excellence in energy sustainability and waste management. In terms of Waste Management, the company has a clear stance on reducing concrete waste from construction, both in brick and mortar and precast forms, towards the innovation 'Earth Blox', which repurposes leftover lightweight concrete waste from construction to create new concrete blocks for use in sidewalks, ventilation ducts, and interior landscaping. Starting now, the company will increase the use of precast construction in condominium projects from 50% to 80% by 2021, which will reduce concrete waste from brick and mortar construction by up to 1,600 tons per year, allowing the company to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 48 tons per year, equivalent to the green area of 36 rai of forest. Additionally, the goal is to announce a mission to reduce concrete waste from construction in Sansiri's precast factories to 0% or Zero Waste by the end of 2019."

In terms of waste disposal from residents' consumption, the company has allocated a budget of 600,000 baht to install Food Waste Machines in 10 central areas in all high-rise projects developed from 2019 onwards, aiming to expand usage in 23 projects over the next three years. In the first year, it is expected to process up to 18 tons of waste from 10 projects, and when all 23 projects are completed, it is anticipated to process an average of 42 tons of waste per year. Additionally, the company has installed Refun Machines for returning plastic bottles and cans in all high-rise projects, totaling 23 projects by 2021, and collaborated with startups to develop the Goo Greens application to provide knowledge about waste separation to residents and allow them to enjoy collecting points for various rewards, which has already been implemented in both horizontal projects at Setthasiri Charan-Pinklao and high-rise projects within Habito Mall. The company has also piloted the installation of Home bio gas machines, which convert waste into cooking gas, at Escape Hotel in Khao Yai, and aims to eliminate the use of plastic drinking bottles 100% at the Head Office, Sales Office, and Sales Gallery by the end of next year."

Furthermore, the company has promoted Energy Saving & Generation to produce alternative electricity for its projects, with plans to install Solar Roofs covering 31 projects by 2021, which will generate 2 megawatts of clean energy, equivalent to the amount of electricity needed to charge 1.4 billion smartphones, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 2,223 tons per year, or about 1,600 rai of green forest area. The company also plans to reduce energy consumption in residential projects, both horizontal and high-rise, by using innovations that help ventilate and lower temperatures in residences, such as the Cooliving Designed Home, which includes Solar Attics and solar-powered fans to reduce heat under the roof, cooling the air inside the house, and Shading Screens designed considering the house's orientation.

Mr. Uthai continued: "In enhancing the perfect living experience for residents or 'Smart Move', the company has introduced the concept Complete your living experience and partnered with four main partners Honda, Haupcar, SHARGE, and EA Anywhere to create a vehicle rental service platform, including installing Electronic car sharing and EV Chargers in all high-rise projects since 2018. Currently, five stations have been installed with a total of 11 vehicles, and plans to add four more stations with six vehicles next year are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 7.5 tons per year, equivalent to about 5.7 rai of green forest area. Additionally, there are plans to expand by launching a new e-scooter partner service in two key projects. Finally, in terms of Sustainability, the company is preparing to collaborate with environmental organizations, being the first real estate company to partner with the Big Tree conservation group to manage large trees in real estate projects sustainably, providing training in arboriculture to the legal entities and staff overseeing the projects to care for and maintain the beauty and sustainability of large trees in all projects, enhancing the well-being of residents and preserving the environment to create a pleasant atmosphere and increase project value. Furthermore, the company emphasizes sustainable design, which is environmentally friendly, by designing to reduce resource and energy use while integrating functionality perfectly, such as designing residences that ensure comfort and reduce indoor temperatures to lower energy consumption, with innovations like Cooliving Designed Home in horizontal projects and Ventilation Door in high-rise condominiums, which the company has recently launched the The Line Phaholyothin Park condominium project as the first 'Green Condominium' in full form and will continue to apply this concept to all future projects."

The Sansiri Green Mission encompasses four main commitments: Waste Management | Smart Move | Energy Saving & Generation | and Sustainability, representing a fusion of green innovations throughout the business cycle and being the first model in the real estate industry with concrete practices aligned with the circular economy concept across all cycles from Reduce – Recycle – Design – Retailer – Consumers. We are confident that within three years, Sansiri Green Mission will be the key to driving the creation of a sustainable future city, marking a significant turning point in elevating the standards of the Thai real estate industry to prioritize environmental sustainability," Mr. Uthai concluded.
