           Bangkok (October 30, 2018) – Today, ICONSIAM, a mega project worth 54 billion baht, announced its readiness to open the doors to this monumental city project symbolizing Thailand's prosperity along the Chao Phraya River. With a budget of over 1 billion baht, it will host the ‘Grand Opening of ICONSIAM’ from November 9-11, 2018. This will mark a significant and historic collaboration, uniting Thai hearts to create a grand phenomenon on the Chao Phraya River that will captivate the world's attention. On November 9, there will be a private event for invited guests, including VIP customers, celebrities, renowned artists, and media from both Thailand and abroad, along with the first 1,000 members of the public from the ICONSIAM Explorer activity and representatives from the surrounding communities. The night will be etched in memory with entertainment from world-class artists such as Choi Siwon, Kim Dong-jun, F4, and a surprise highlight concert featuring globally acclaimed Grammy Award-winning singers, along with over 100 famous Thai celebrities walking the longest red carpet along the Chao Phraya River, including Aum Patchrapa Chaiyachua, Ann Thongprasom, James Jirayu, Weir Sukollawat, Jeab Sopitnapa Chumpanee, Sririta Jensen, Burin Boonvisut, Kalamae Patcharasri Benjamart, Woody Milintachinda, Tony Rakkaen, Buakaw Banchamek, Antoine Pinto, Metinee Kingpayome, Sonya Cooling, Sukwan Boolakul, The Face Men, The Face Winner, Miss Universe Thailand. The Grand Phenomenon at River Park Along the Chao Phraya River

           Writing a new chapter in history and captivating the world's attention to the Chao Phraya River with a performance where the past, present, and future converge elegantly, blending traditional and contemporary Thai cultural performances with international art, performing alongside the largest drone display in Southeast Asia, creating a grand spectacle above the skies on the Chao Phraya River.

           ICONSIAM begins welcoming guests with a high-class performance showcasing the beauty of Thai art in a blended style, along with the traditional large puppet show, a high-class Thai entertainment form that has existed since the Ayutthaya period, featuring the artistic works of Professor Kamol Tassananchalee, a National Artist of 1997 in the field of visual arts, a distinguished artist in contemporary painting and mixed media, recognized both domestically and internationally, performed by master puppeteers from Wat Kannon, along with a small puppet show performed by skilled puppeteers bringing the characters from literature to life, warmly welcoming guests. Additionally, there will be a world-class performance featuring butterflies and flowers in the form of stilt walkers from Empress Stilt Dance, a famous show troupe from Australia, joining in the grand celebration.

           The highlight performance at River Park along the Chao Phraya River is the show “Eternal Prosperity – โรจนนิรันดร”, a blend of cultural art with modernity to reflect the prosperity of the past that has been passed down to the present, the advancement, and the brilliance of the future where prosperity will spread widely. The riverside area will be transformed into a grand performance stage with exquisite sculptures designed by Ajarn Chalermchai Khositphiphat, installed above a large performance area of over 1,000 square meters, accommodating a blend of traditional Thai dance, contemporary Thai dance, international dance, and acrobatic performances, with collaborative design from leading national institutions, accompanied by music from the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Associate Professor Dr. Sukree Jaroensuk, performing a piece specially composed for ICONSIAM titled ICON of DREAMS, with melodies composed by Dr. Narong Prangcharoen in collaboration with Mr. Sarawut Lertpanitnuch, and lyrics by Mr. Donchai Boonyaratwetch, with the honor of Ajarn Thanis Sriklinthee performing the Thai flute.

           The performance “Eternal Prosperity – โรจนนิรันดร” will also feature the first-ever floating museum in Thailand, “Siri Mahasamut Ship”, a massive ancient trading ship returning to sail on the Chao Phraya River once again, in a new dimension combining cutting-edge technology, the pinnacle of grandeur through collaboration with Intel, a world-leading technology company, creating stunning visuals in the sky with over 1,500 drones, marking the first drone display in Thailand and the largest in Southeast Asia, surpassing the Winter Olympics in South Korea last year, forming a procession and illuminating images representing the identity of the Siam country, along with a concert performance by world-renowned singers, musicians, and songwriters, Grammy Award winners, and one of the most successful entertainers in the world, performing alongside over 500 amateur performers from across Thailand, concluding with the longest water dance in Southeast Asia.            The performance “Sopha Aporn Pan – Contemporary Creations” on the first floor showcases works from the significant collaboration of four leading Thai designers: Mr. Jirathat Sapphisankul, Mr. Vicharavich Akrasanti, Mr. Theera Chantasawat, and Mr. Platt Srilalitsroi, creating exquisite Thai silk fabric art installations named Concentration, which convey through contemporary innovations that blend traditional tie-dye techniques, thus achieving a universal modernity while retaining a clear identity, just like ICONSIAM.
