DITP Reports Success of STYLE Event, Attracting Over 3.32 Billion Baht to the Country
Ms. Jantira Yimrawat Wiwatrat, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce announced the results of the "STYLE" lifestyle trade show held from October 17-21, 2017, stating that it achieved its set goals. Over the five days, the event attracted a total of 51,980 visitors, with the top five countries represented being Taiwan, China, Japan, the United States, and Malaysia.
“With the unique features of the STYLE event, which is the largest and most comprehensive lifestyle trade show in the region, combining fashion and leather goods (BIFF&BIL), gifts and home products (BIG+BIH), and furniture (TIFF) for the first time, it provided opportunities for over 1,000 companies, especially SMEs and Startups, to engage in trade discussions with buyers of fashion, leather goods, gifts, home products, and furniture from around the world all in one place. This led to a positive response for STYLE, successfully connecting new buyers with Thai manufacturers and exporters, resulting in order values exceeding the set targets. Immediate orders totaled $5.11 million, approximately 168.80 million baht, with projected orders within one year reaching $100.67 million, or about 3.32 billion baht, surpassing expectations.,” Ms. Jantira stated.

In addition to the lifestyle products showcased for trade discussions, the event featured other interesting products developed by experts targeting niche markets, such as products for mothers and children, OTOP products, items for the elderly, men's products, and pet products, which garnered significant interest. Furthermore, various innovations from Thai entrepreneurs promoted by DITP were presented through engaging exhibitions that sparked ideas, inspiration, opportunities, and business success, such as the Thai Herbal Life + Style Café exhibition showcasing Thai herbs and innovative herbal products, the T-STYLE exhibition featuring works from four projects including T-STYLE: Eco Commercial Design focusing on the environment, T-STYLE: DEWA developed from natural plants and waste materials, and T-STYLE: ISAAN Object, which emerged from the exchange of wisdom, knowledge, and perspectives from the local Isaan community and government, resulting in new innovations. Other highlights included the Trend Forum 2018 showcasing fashion trends for 2018, the QURATED Fashion Incubation Project preparing fashion entrepreneurs, Talent Thai 2017 displaying lifestyle product designs for the global market, Designers' Room 2017 showcasing fashion designers' works for the global market, I+D Style café simulating a modern prototype café decorated with well-designed and eco-friendly products, and the Designer of the Year exhibition featuring award-winning designers' works, all of which attracted considerable attention.
