Breaking the boundaries of local materials to create masterpiece designs, Quattro Design, a leading importer and distributor of luxury furniture brands, led by Director and Founder Prawpan Laohapongchana, has taken on the significant role of Design Curator for the national project "Thailand Gallery" at the Royal Thai Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands. This initiative aims to create a new statement in the interior design industry by merging the beauty of "Thai fabrics from the Donkoy community" in Sakon Nakhon, a unique aspect of Thailand, with contemporary furniture structures from the renowned Dutch brand Eichholtz.

This collection presents a reinterpretation of Thai fabrics in a new context, transforming them from mere clothing into "Sculptural Furniture Design" that exudes luxury and taste. Quattro Design has demonstrated that when the craftsmanship wisdom from the Donkoy Model project, developed under the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, is paired with sharp design lines that meet international standards, Thai fabrics can elevate to become a design material that perfectly suits high-end living.

All works are crafted through the "Thailand Gallery" project, initiated by the Royal Thai Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands, to develop a prototype exhibition space that reflects Thailand's identity and potential through the concepts of "modernity, sustainability, and creative wisdom," showcasing Thai craftsmanship, design, and innovation in both physical and digital experiences.

The Thailand Gallery consists of three main rooms: the Rose Room, the Queen’s Room, and the Gallery, each reflecting different inspirations.

The Rose Room is inspired by the color associated with the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana and the colors of the Grand Palace, creatively integrating the woven "Donkoy" fabric into contemporary furniture designs.

The Queen’s Room is dedicated to honoring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, showcasing timeless beauty through blue and yellow tones. The yellow is inspired by the birthday color of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and His Majesty King Rama X, paired with blue tones in a classic color combination that reflects timeless elegance.

Meanwhile, the Gallery serves as a creative space for displaying artworks and handicrafts from leading Thai artisans, equipped with digital displays to provide contemporary experiences and knowledge.

Quattro Design has contributed to the spatial curation and storytelling of the furniture and textiles, conveying the value of Thai fabrics in a new context.

In addition to the exhibition at the Royal Thai Embassy in The Hague, works from the project are also showcased in a window display at the De Bijenkorf Flagship Store in the heart of Amsterdam, expanding awareness of Thai design to the international public, connecting culture, design, and audiences in a contemporary context.

Prawpan Laohapongchana expressed pride in this collaboration, stating, "Working with the Donkoy community and international brands proves that Thai fabrics have limitless potential when told through modern spatial curation and storytelling perspectives. This collaboration reflects the roles of diplomacy, the private sector, and design in promoting cultural exchange and enhancing the wisdom of Thai fabrics to reach an international audience through contemporary presentations and experiential exhibition spaces."

Quattro Design plans to continue integrating Thai fabrics into contemporary design contexts through collaborations with partners both domestically and internationally, focusing on developing works that connect local wisdom with everyday use while adhering to international design standards. This includes supporting Thai fabric producers to create added value for their products and expanding market access both domestically and internationally through design concepts that blend beauty, function, and the context of modern users.
