TADA 2025: A Platform for Asian Architecture Reflecting the Vision of “Connected Living”

Mr. Vicha Worasayan, Leader of the Housing Technology Business Group at LHT Asia Sales and Marketing Co., Ltd., the manufacturer of Tostem brand aluminum windows and doors, revealed that the TOSTEM Asia Design Award (TADA) 2025 is an Asian-level architectural competition held for the third time under the main theme “ARCHITECTURE THAT CONNECTS.” This year, architects from Asia were invited to showcase their design visions that harmoniously connect “people–spaces–nature.” Over 455 projects from architects across 5 countries in Asia, including India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand, were submitted. This award celebrates residential architecture under the concept of Connected Living, which is at the heart of Tostem's philosophy aimed at creating a balance between nature, space, and life.

This year, Tostem has a judging panel consisting of winners from the TADA 2024 competition to select the winning architects for this year. The TADA 2025 awards are divided into 4 categories: BEST OF THE BEST: the highest award for the most outstanding residential project of the year; BUILDING OF THE YEAR: awarded to projects that demonstrate architectural excellence and the spirit of CONNECTED LIVING; SUSTAINABLE LIVING AWARD: for designs that consider sustainability, energy efficiency, and long-term living; and NEXTGEN AWARD: for new-generation architects presenting challenging and visionary design concepts. It is a great honor that Thai architects' designs have won 3 awards out of a total of 10 awards presented.

Building of the Year Award for the project LAAB is more by Studio Sifah Co., Ltd. Architects: Khun Sifa Sorchaijun and Khun Warat Rattanatrai.

This impressive project concept draws inspiration from “Larb,” a traditional northern Thai dish, interpreting it as an architectural space called “Larb House” in Chiang Mai. The design centers around a space for making Larb, which becomes the heart of the home. The architects use level variations to gently separate private and public zones, inspired by “rice barns” of the Lanna region, and utilize local materials such as block bricks and steel, expressed through the language of local wooden houses, creating contemporary architecture that respects traditional lifestyles and connects generations.

Building of the Year Award for the project Veil House by ONE AND A HALF ARCHITECTS CO., LTD. Architects: Khun Vicharn Kongnok and Khun Jarupong Uengsirisakul.

This renovation project in Bangkok is based on the concept “When Privacy Meets the Wilderness.” The architects chose to enhance the existing structure to create a new experience, using perforated walls as “curtains” to filter light, wind, and views, providing privacy without disconnecting from the surrounding context. The connection between the interior and the garden is facilitated by large glass walls, allowing the house to “breathe” with nature.

NEXTGEN Award for the project HIDDEN GROUND by Architect COOLCREW. Architects: Khun Lertchai Premsombat and Khun Nicharee Saeiaw.

The latest NEXTGEN Award category allows new architects to compete with architectural concepts, providing opportunities for young designers to showcase their skills. The first winner of this year is a team from Thailand that received a special award for new architects who interpreted the concept of “Connected Living” remarkably. This house is designed to blend with the surrounding landscape, with seamless continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces, utilizing Tostem products with slim frames that dissolve the boundaries between “inside” and “outside,” fully embracing light, wind, and natural views.

All 3 award-winning projects by Thai architects reflect the concept of “Connected Living” through designs that integrate creativity and sustainability, effectively utilizing Tostem products as integral elements in the design. They are unique and align with Tostem's direction, emphasizing quality, advanced technology, and effective and creative design principles, showcasing the integration of products as prominent architectural elements that enhance comfort and quality of living sustainably.
